Help with LCS household breakdown debt? Empty Re: Help with LCS household breakdown debt?

Post by Guest Fri Jun 30, 2017 1:05 pm

Hi stormy121

What i find confusing is that rather than threatening court action for non-payment they say they 'may commence further calls and letters'. This seems rather toothless and suggests they may have no recourse to court action....

However if you wish to stay in receipt of tax credits your options are limited. You could send them a letter:

Dear Rebecca

Thank you for your letter dated 26.6.17 (your ref:.....) and the offer to contract contained therein.

As i have not been recently contacted on this matter by anyone other than yourselves your opening statement is erroneous and thus renders the rest of your message both irrelevant and somewhat suspect.

Being that i have not refused nor even been asked to pay this alleged debt it seems highly irregular that a third-party has been employed to harass me for it, and i find myself feeling rather insulted.

Please advise your client to contact myself directly in writing with details of the alleged debt that i may consider appropriate measures to deal with it.

See what comes back from that stormy121 and take it from there.

Good luck

Cheers!

I suppose it would not be unreasonable to request a copy of the original from tax office. Could add that in as well. You would need it for your record. Thing is did they send one or just go straight to LCS.

'LCS is a trading style of 1st Locate (UK) ltd'

http://www.1stlocate.co.uk/

Confidential people tracing

Firstlocate employ almost 250 staff and provide people location & tracing services on a scale that few other organisations can match. Whether you are an individual seeking to regain contact with a missing tenant or a corporate wishing to restore contact with missing or former customers, we can help.

'To ensure your personal data is protected, we are unable to respond to email correspondence'.

Give us your address, and confirm you live there Wink

Totally bad grammar from so called 'experts',

'As you have not paid your debt has been passed to ourselves' Laughing

iamani gives a good probing response above but, I personally am not convinced that you need to interact with this entity at all.

Worth considering.

https://www.gov.uk/if-you-dont-pay-your-tax-bill/debt-collection-agencies

3. Debt collection agencies

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) can collect your debt through a private debt collection agency.

The agency will write to you and you should pay them directly.

Debt collection agencies used by HMRC are:

1st Locate (trading as LCS)

Help with LCS household breakdown debt? Empty Re: Help with LCS household breakdown debt?

Post by Little D Sat Jul 01, 2017 12:03 am

I have personally experienced this 'third party' intervention from gov entities in the past (2011). This was for a social fund loan I had taken out in 2000 ish.

I politely, pretty much told them to go ??????????????????? themselves and that any monies owed were to the public purse and in no way shape or form would I pay a third party interloper monies that were extended from the public purse via a third party 'for profit'.

I also spoke with the gov department that had 'passed' the so called liability, initially their standing was 'computer says no'. After some cognitive dissonance discourse (I felt a bit bad after, the lady I spoke with gave a great speech of this and that) I flatly stated I would not pay any public monies through a third party for third party profit. Any monies borrowed from the public purse will be paid back to the public purse absolute!.

I paid the monies back, in full that I borrowed from the public purse during some hard times.

'1st Locate' are third party interlopers, depending on how you wish to proceed you are under no obligation to interact with this entity.

I agree with ALAB, I also have on all occasions regarding third parties stated ' Any money I may lawfully owe to xxxxx will be paid to xxxxx and under no circumstancies will any money be paid to bottom feeders like yourselves.

I have then found that it gets sent back to OC as clearly they are probably paid by results.

Help with LCS household breakdown debt? Empty Re: Help with LCS household breakdown debt?

Post by Little D Fri Jul 14, 2017 5:04 pm

Hey,

The approach I took was to contact the gov department and state to them that I would not pay the third party, as well as telling the third party to do one.

It is possible that my approach worked because I made an offer to pay the gov department if they sent me some paying in slips but, point blank refused to deal with the third party for payment. However they (gov department) pulled it back from the third party I do not know but, I never heard from the third party again.

If you ignore both entities it will probably escalate in some form, especially if it is left in the hands of a dca.

I would just add that if you are going to send the ceast and desist notice to be realistic with the costs you put on it. If someone who was on say minimum wage tried to charge 150 quid a letter it would just be laughed at. You have to ask for costs that match your experience or expertise and your own loses.

Just tell them then, You have never been contacted by HMRC concerning this alleged debt .Until such time as you do you will not engage with third parties making unsupported claims .In any event should you lawfully owe a debt to HMRC you will pay HMRC and not engage with bottom feeders. Simple.
