Hi. Just recieved this today from Cabot Financial LTD http://discodaveuploads.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/0/7/110717719/cabot_scan__edited_.jpg

I have heard over on the old site thet these guys are the worst. Letter 1 is on it's way to them. Has anyone on here ever been successful in chasing them off?

Also take a look at the part of the letter that says "purchase balance" I take it they are talking crap there

Where does it say that ? Plus, I'd remove date & balance and who the original creditor was, there's enough to identify you and to potentially use anything you post here in Court against you.

we're not the only ones who read these forums!!

I will remove those when I get back home. But what I find strange is down the right hand side of the letter it says purchase balance and outstanding balance and they are both the same figure. I mean don't they purchase these accounts for pennies in the pound?

What they mean is the balance they purchased, then it would be minus any amount paid in the meantime to give the 'outstanding balance'.

Yes, I have, they discontinued their claim against me and the debt is now Statute Barred.

Great stuff. I have heard people say Cabot are the hardest to get rid of but having said that I heard before Lowell are hard and in my experience Lowell have been one of the easiest to get rid of

They can be all hard to get rid of, they just buy your data , this is why they have no paperwork , and yes they make up the paperwork from what little data they have got on you,

dont just think by sending 1 or 2 or 3 letters they will give up , (but sometimes they will,we know this )
maybe its about what data they have got on you,

remember from the first letter you are in a fight, and remember they want your money they will lie ,and try and scare you,,you want paperwork to show they legally own the debt, even it means going all the way to court

Cabot have brought out wescot and taken over my mint debt that has been sent 3 letters and estoppel. I am about to sent cabot 3rd letter as i'm dealing with the same thieves any advice.

Wescot only ever act as agents, so Cabots will have bought the debt direct from Mint.

If you need further help, it might be a good idea to start your own thread.

Yes the new letters look good. One question though, why do the new letters not ask for a deed of assignment?

its now believed there is no deed of assignment ,thats why documents of title are asked for.

If you don't request the Deed of Assignment you negate the possibility of using Van Lynn Developments Limited v Pelias Construction [1969] 1QB607 which allows you as Debtor sight to the Deed of Assignment.

With this you can request a Court order they produce the Deed, how much the paid for the debt to establish whether you are a victim / they are attempting Unlawful / Unjust Enrichment.

We are asking for documents of title .if a deed exists that is also a document of title.

I do not wish to divert this thread ,but will just add. these new letters are produced with the
intention that they are not set in stone ,but evolve over time to provide the most effective
method we can . I will add the Deed of Assignment to the letters ,to cover all bases.

Hi discodave4093. If you get a call from cabotsnthat you only greet them with "hello" and do not mention of your name. They will ask you to identify yourself with your name and dob. Do not joinder with them by giving your name and dob. Tell them that they should write a letter to the person they are after and hang up. Do not continue talking with them as you might make a mistake. You could block their calls to your phone and if they got your work number that you do not identify yourself and tell them to write to this person and hang up. Tell work that anyone calling for you to take a message but never call them back

They haven't as yet attempted to call but if they do I will most likely just say 2 words to them, the 2nd word would be "off" and the 1st word would rhyme with "duck" Laughing
