Accountability In Action

Post by assassin on Thu Mar 30, 2017 1:25 am

Only today the Labour run Derby City Council proposed a motion to stop the public from asking questions directly to the council during council meetings, and followed it up to lock the doors to the public gallery to prevent the same taxpayers from even attending the meetings and holding them to account for their actions, this is very dodgy teritory and a clear suppression of information and more importantly, the control of information by only allowing their PR departments to handle, filter, manipulate, and massage the information before it is released in sanitised form to the public.

What is much worse is the fact it is a breeding ground for cover up's and even fraud as by not being present and allowing the public and media to view the meetings and ask questions means nobody is accountable for their, or their parties actions and it makes it diffiicult for any investigation to occur if the minutes of the meeting are inaccurate or sanitised meaning its merely a case of self protectionism for the council, the political parties, and the councillors themselves, and this must be prevented from doing this. Remember they are public servants, our servants, and they work for us and we have to impose our will upon them to do what we require and stop this tail wagging the dog situation currently happening around the country.

Once one council does it you can bet that in the near future they will all follow suit and then the public will be the losers as they run rampant on their power trips.
