HELP ANY ADVICE ON NIP

Got an NIP for speeding and I sent 3 letters asking for bill under Bills of Exchange they ignored all letters and proceeded to court without telling me.

Now got papers from the court judgement against me & £811 fine

How do I tackle this now?

Not really much you can do unfortunately. The 3 letters were never intended for magistrate court proceedings.  As you've sent letters you can't do a statutory declaration and sort it out that way.

Just so you're aware , as it's a Magistrate Court they can arrest you if you don't sort it out, up to you but I would suggest you contact the Court and offer a payment plan otherwise it could turn quite nasty.

Do you mean you didn't receive the summons?

Sounds like what happened to me!

They send a fine for speeding. You can name the driver.

If they hear nothing from you they drop the speeding fine and go straight for a non-disclosure fine.

If you never received the fine then make a statutory declaration in court and they re-open the case. (The case where they sent you a summons etc for the non-disclosure of the driver)

But you have to tell non porkies as to why you didnt respond.

I cant link at the mo but look for my posts of recent!

Thank you for the advice I wondered how to fight using Bills of Exchange 1882 bcoz the man must always be compensated and they can never give a bill?

How does that help when a sentence has already been imposed? Can't use it as an appeal as it has nothing to do with any point of law under which the sentence has been imposed.
