Debt/Bailiffs Collectors different country Empty Debt/Bailiffs Collectors different country

Post by pipsaholic Fri Apr 14, 2017 6:06 pm

Hi,

Most of my debt collection companies are registered in England, however I am based in Scotland. Lloyds sold my alleged debt to a debt company based in Scotland. They have visited me and I guess that is because they have offices close by. So, would that mean DCA based in other parts of the UK are unlikely to make a trip hundreds of miles to have the door shut on them or get nothing I guess?

I guess most company ONLY write letters and phone calls while very few make 3-4 visits asking for money? Would that be the same for bailiffs or would they allocate me to the nearest branch where I live?

Wish i lived in Northern Ireland Smile No way they would take a ferry to chase me?

It doesn't matter where they are registered, recently a lot of European companiees based in Europe arrived to exploit the British money pit of debt, and they merely set up a British division and a regional office.

Yes they have different collection offices in England, however if u live in Scotland, Wales or.Northern Ireland is doubt they would send an employee more than 50 miles unless they live nearby. All they can do is make calls n send threatining letters or make a court claim.

They also may have no offices near you, but a network of self employed collectors based all over the country who they just E-mail your details to, and they call.

Its not unusual for DC's to simply have two employees/self employed travelling within an area delivering letters, they may receive something like £10 per letter delivered and they just post and run as they dont want to engage with you as you take up precious time where they get a guaranteed payment. Work it out, if they travel 50 miles per day its about 3 gallons of diesel, if they deliver 50 letters its a guaranteed £500 split between them or £250 each per day for no work and just a little diesel.

Self employed contractors interesting doesn't that open up a can of worms regarding their pursuit of claiming alleged debt? The rights of employees of a company and self employed are different.
