Just a quick hands up the Royal Mail and the Post Office are trying to make stamps obsolete.

Do not except labels ask for stamps if you snooze your lose.

Stamps have intrinsic value they are worth their weight in gold they do not devalue and have been around for a very long time.

About 3 years ago the post office started using labels on Recorded and Special Delivery letters.   The labels are a violation of the UPU Article 11 as the Post Office have a printing press at each counter.  A Label is NOT a stamp guys it is a worthless piece of sticky paper which has a long number on which they (either the Post Office or/and Royal Mail Limited) can use as a line of credit further unjustly enriching themselves at the public’s expense.

I went to one Post Office in London last week and they didn't have any Special Delivery Stamps and I quote "They won't give us any" unquote.

Also the Certificates of Posting which they will put on a long receipt if you have more than one item.  You can not separate the barcode numbers as it ceases to be a Certificate of Posting.  Further more if the barcodes are separated you can not claim any compensation if they item is lost.

This is Trickery: noun: trickery; 1. the practice of deception.  Remember the Maxim “Let he who would be deceived let him be deceived”.

These ******* think they can do as they like remember the Nolan Principles (Seven Principles of Public Life) applies to anyone who is preforming a public service.  This includes Royal Mail and the Post Office Cheif Executives and their staff!

The Motu Proprio also applies in this situation.

Stand up for your rights before you have none left...............

Interesting heads up with this Boudica. 3 years ago I bought 100 x 1p book of stamps from a local post office (much to a counter staffs surprise). I have so far used approx 10 on my .gov. I think I might travel around and pick up a load more in whatever small denominations I can get hold of. Which reminds me I am thinking of placing a stamp on the back of my old paper drivers licence and signing through. After all I'm just travelling to my destination via... and delivering said item to its home address.

its also worth buying them at the rate they are putting up the prices , 1st and 2nd class will gain value (the priced ones deflate over time but hold face value).
there is an epidemic of used stamps being reused because RM cant frank them properly . You can even buy  (stamp remover) on ebay. You can even buy unfranked stamps by the 100s.

That's a good idea Lopsum but at the price they are charging for even second I don't fancy buying another hundred. A little risky on Ebay I think, so I will shop around some post offices next week and see what I can come up with. Another 100 or 200 at 1p each would do me. Should see out my life I reckon keeping them off my back.

ive bought genuine stamps off ebay at a slight reduced price (people are making money out of RM price hikes and are selling stamps they bought years ago for less than current retail)
i saved about 7 quid on 100 second class large letter. And they were legit , you have buyer protection anyway if they turn out to be dodgy.

Its more like they not really tackling the problem rather than "cant" , and i would agree that the reason is ,probably, so they can phase them out .

You guys amaze me you really are not geting the point at all.

People ask me why I'm not doing the meetings any more and the answer is simple people prefer to be keyboard worriers putting out pointless comments to each other on here instead of getting on with it and fighting the system.

You need to put FOI in and ask what the bloody hell is going on and how the private is allowed to get away with this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boudica.

Have you put in FOI's? Have you asked 'what the bloody hell is going on?' Have you asked (and I've no idea who that would be) 'how the private is allowed to get away with this!!!...?' Thing is! I'm sure you have done all this.

I think quite a lot on here have done some or all of this as well - I have and all I can say is we are all at different stages in learning how to deal with our government and money system etc. SO! No need for the attitude FFS. You just turned a pleasent post into a not so pleasent post. Phillpots

This wasn't a as you put it "Pleasent Post" Phillpots. It was informing for those of you on here who are serious about doing something. Did I put FOI in? Of course we have and we have also contacted the COE and others such as OfCom.

What have you don't? Sweet FA by the looks of it.

I can assure you I have had communications, emails and written post with The World Bank, IMF, US Supreme Court, Federal Reserve, Bank of England Governor, many MP's and council officials to name a few over the last 3 years and I know what happens and what does not. The way you want it to happen will not work. We can all bitch till the cows come home with these entities. You must know even em mass this would not work.

What will work then??

Surely you must know what is needed to be done.

I am currently learning what is needed to be done.
