The Great Fuel Price Scam Empty The Great Fuel Price Scam

Post by assassin Sat Jan 05, 2019 3:09 am

If we begin at the beginning and listen to Government, they say there is no fuel cartel and have done so for many years, but I was in the fuel game for a while and can say that without doubt that there is a cartel; when I owned fuel stations every site operator had to go and do a price check of all their local competition at least 3 times per day, and if a competitors price went up and it was phoned through then they would come back minutes later and tell us to raise our prices, if our competitors prices fell then ours also fell, so there is a cartel in fuel sales and it is a series of localised price cartels.

If we look at Government again and their excuses of favouring one or other fuel type because of environmental emissions we quickly see that this is also a pack of lies because a modern diesel engine actually produces much fewer emissions than a modern petrol engine and this is based upon the latest EU6 emissions standards, and in point of fact the only reason the Government are trying to dissuade people from buying diesel engined vehicles is nothing to do with environmental emissions, it is all about money and nothing else.

From this point all prices are based solely on average prices of today; they may rise or fall tomorrow, next week, or even next month.

Why is this a scam? because a diesel engined vehicle in most applications is cheaper and cleaner to run than the petrol and to do this we need to begin with looking at prices.

Average price of diesel per litre: £1.34 while petrol is £1.24 and please remember that this is todays AVERAGE price in the UK only.

I have a BMW 320 diesel which has averaged 48.9 MPG over the last 10,000 miles.
We also have a BMW 320 petrol which has averaged 32.2 MPG over the last 10,000 miles.

My diesel engined BMW averages 16.7 MPG than the petrol engined model which means it uses much less fuel, or approximately 1/3rd less fuel to do the same mileage so it must cost 1/3 more to fuel the petrol up to do the same mileage.

We also have BMW 5 series models:

Our 520 diesel averages 41.4 MPG over 10,000 miles.
Our 520 petrol averages 31.6 MPG over 10,000 miles.

So, it costs around 25% less to cover the same mileage in the diesel model.

What does fuel cost?

Petrol costs an average £1.24 per gallon while diesel costs £1.34 per gallon. Diesel is loaded with an additional 3p per litre for alleged "environmental reasons" and if this is removed it brings diesel to an average £1.31 per litre.
If we remove the VAT we see fuel is reduced to £1.02 per litre for petrol and £1.12 per litre for diesel, but all petrol and diesel fuel is subjected to a fuel duty of 52.9p per litre, so if we remove the VAT of 22p per litre and the 52.9p for petrol it only costs 51.1p per litre and the rest is tax, while if we do the same with diesel it brings diesel down to 59.1p per litre and these costs include the manufacturers and reatilers profits before it even hits the forecourt. This means that at the time of writing 60.8% of diesel is taxation and 64.5% of petrol is taxation which goes straight into the treasuries coffers.

Already we can see that there is a higher profit on petrol than there is for diesel, for the treasuries coffers; if we look at usage then in city centres in rush hour traffic the diesel is more efficient and cleaner than petrol, and on long distance running the diesel is cleaner and more efficient than petrol, but why? diesel engines are most efficient in their low and medium engine revolution ranges, while petrols are more efficient in their upper mid range and high engine revolutions, and in most driving applications very few engines actually work at their higher engine revolutions because we simply don't have the roads to to this. If we add in the deliberate congestion creation schemes such as speed humps, mini islands, and school zones and other 20 MPH zones, the diesel engine wins every time as it uses much less fuel than a petrol engine in continual slowing down and accelerating back to speed that these obstacles create as they are working at their optimum in such conditions, and petrol consumption is hammered.

Now we can bring it all together, petrol engines use much more fuel than diesels, Government makes 60.8% of that £1.24 per litre, and by introducing these deliberate obstructions on an average journey they can increase your petrol consumption by around 15-22% which means you have to buy more petrol and Government gets more tax from more sales of petrol, who says it isn't all about money.
