Turning The Public On the Public

Only today have I heard a disturbing claim by another useless organisation who are claiming the following:

That a new law should be passed which only allows a vehicle to have its engine idling for 3 minutes before it must be switched off, and 1 minute around schools or other areas where children are.

That the public should be able to film then and send the footage to the po-lice for them to issue a fine.

And, that whoever sends in such footage should get 25% of the fine.

WHY?

Lets think about this for a minute, if this gets through then what will happen:

You will get people seeing this as an easy way to earn some cash and go out with the sole intention of filming motorists for profit.
You will see many people such as the elderly, disabled, and people with medical conditions filmed, usually in the depths of winter when they need the vehicle heaters on to stay warm, and if people turn heaters, particularly demisters off there will be many people driving vehicles illegally as their vision will be impaired by the mist which forms on their windscreens and other windows.

Lice will make demands and create a system designed to obtain personal information:
They will demand all footage is sent in by E-mail so they have your E-mail address.
They will demand your name and address and link this to your E-mail address.
They will demand your bank details and make payments through one of the various bank transfer systems, now they can link a name and address to an E-mail address, and link this to a bank account and they have sufficient personal data to place on their systems which is more than they could ever get from arresting you. If you are arrested they never ask for your E-mail address or bank details do they.

The next bit takes a little thought, how many videos are placed on the internet of the lice viciously attacking, threatening, and harassing people, the same people they proclaim to serve and protect; and as we all know, they don't like bad or negative publicity, so they are taking themselves out of the equation and not putting themselves in this position which reduces the chances of them being filmed, acting in a negative light and recent figures show that less than half the population have faith in the lice.
People will turn on people and any altercations will take place between members of the public and nobody else and if there is an altercation they will turn up and be guaranteed an arrest and at least one person being taken to court and more income is extorted from them to fill the coffers; it will be the opening of the floodgates to the public policing the public and such schemes will be expanded infinately and it is easy money as they are presented with the evidence and have to do little to no work, and investigating costs time and money.

How much of this personal information will be sold off? how many companies already have this information; didn't G4S buy their own lice force, so at least one private company will have access to it, so what about Serco and all the other companies such as Mitie who already have access to certain information by providing contract services to the lice; and let us remember that personal information/data is big money and will be sold off at some point.

Think about it, you have consented to them and all their third party service providers having your personal information as well as allowing them access to your computers and bank accounts. Currently, if they want this information they have to get a warrant from a judge and they have to provide substantial and credible information of a crime or suspected criminal activity to even get the warrant, so all your personal protections have been eroded and you have handed it to them on a plate.

This sort of thing happens in China.

It's not limited to idling carso either.

If you film a speeding car, in a box junction, you name it.

What actually happens is that members of the public set you up.

Anyway he had a programme on it once and it was enlightening.

On a separate note. I started watching him a few years ago. I love his motor biking around the back roads vids. Lovely countryside. Shame about the peoples.

Remove all traffic lights, some failed in Derby at a major intersection and guess what? traffic flowed much better and instead of sitting in a queue for over 30 minutes to get through it in rush hour traffic, this was cut to around 6 minutes and unsurprisingly, there were no accidents.

Remove all the t*ts in the roads they call mini islands as they are a deliberate obstruction designed to slow traffic down, and roads with them suddenly had a huge rise in pollution levels.

Remove all speed humps as they caused a massive increase in safety related failures in major car components, huge increases in brake wear, suspension component wear, and steering component wear, and allthese extra components need manufacturing somewhere, and need shipping to retailers and garages. They discriminate against disabled people, increase emergency vehicle response times, imagine if it was your child in an accident or your home ablaze, and cause other road related problels such as cracking of the road surface where heavier vehicles such as lorries or buses crash down off them, or the accidents they cause such as humps on hills in snow and ice. Widen all the narrowed lanes so lorries can go around an island without having to take up two lanes, imagine how much much it would save in accident damage to other vehicles which have to be repaired, reductions in insurance premiums, and the emissions it would save from vehicles not being sat in traffic jams behind thee accidents.

Agreed on all points Assassin. All of these obstructions exist because we can’t deal with the minority for whom do not posses road sense nor road craft and hence the ‘need’.

And, of course, all these (not just the “t*ts haha) contribute hugely to pollution. But that’s OK as it increases the demand in fuel (TAX)

Indeed Mr Blue, the dreaded fuel and misquoted taxation.

Just under 80% of fuel cost is a tax of one form or another and the media only focus on one tax, break the figures down and it becomes interesting.
