Do the 3 letters work?
The simple answer is yes!
Always follow the procedure of the 3 letters and the estoppel. And if you have to bill them, send them a bill. After the 3 letters, send the estoppel 30 days later.

Re: Do the 3 letters work??
Sometimes with the 3 letters they may pass back the debt to the original creditor, or they may pass it to another debt collector.
Ceylon added teeth with the 3 letters, by introducing billing, which worked for me. I think it was Daveiron who adds more to his letters to give more teeth, but remember he is a very experienced member. Do not change the meaning of the letters.
In the 3 letters it says you are willing to pay if they prove they legally own the debt. You can also use these letters in court, if you had to go.
I added more teeth to my letters, by stating I would vigorously defend any claims for solicitors fees and court fees if went to court, by not sending the information.
If you are lucky, you will get some letters with £0.00 balance. You will see in one photo a letter they sent me, after the 3 letters, estoppel and bill, you see £0.00 balance. Sometimes you may just get a letter, we are looking for the paperwork, end of story.

Re: Do the 3 letters work??
Hi pete,
Yes i do add a couple of extra points.they are very simple ,for example we all know that the agreements are sold or securitised in some way, so I ask the question "Has the account been sold or traded in any way ?"
I also add at the end of any official letter " I require all correspondence to be signed by a named individual who takes liability for its contents" .
This then puts liability on the individual should they give an answer which is a lie & not hide behind the corporation.
How many are prepared to chance it ?
I guess its just my nature to try and adapt & maybe find something that is more effective .
I believe we need to keep moving ahead as by now they have seen so many of the three letters being used & there must be many who having sent the letters are then at a loss as to what to do if the alleged creditors appear not to have given up at that point.
My aim is to find the correct questions so they are afraid to pursue.

bimmer remember we use writing to express ones wishes and intentions, you cant try and interpret it into legalese, your not a bar member. The letter uses English and other established languages to express a defined will as clearly as possible .
It doesnt really matter if you put uk or england if they are confused what is meant they need you to clarify what YOU mean. Dont forget what you are . They will never write back and say well your not in the uk it doesnt exist, they will assume you mean the landmass known generally as uk/britain/england or they are insane. In fact you could rewrite the 3 letters in slang/accented spelling to express regional dialect , or in 3 word sentences as long as it makes sense. They never reply and say "what do you mean by this we dont understand please clarify your position" they know what it means. Give me info i need that you hold so i can make the right decision/action to honor any true claim , false claims will be disputed on receipt of the evidence.
if you can stipulate this everything else is semantics.
The template letters (ready made version to save time and for people who arent confident enough to write their own version.)
tem-plate
2. anything that determines or serves as a pattern; a model: You can use my notes as a template for employee evaluations.
its not this way or no way.

An invoice is a commercial document issued by a seller to a buyer, indicating the products, quantities and agreed prices for products or services that the Seller has already provided the Buyer with. An invoice indicates that, unless paid in advance, payment is due by the buyer to the seller, according to the agreed terms.
A bill is a document requesting payment for goods previously supplied. This presentation of a bill is common practice on the part of restaurants, credit card companies, utilities, and other service providers. The bill for something is the total price of all services and goods received but not yet paid for, and is presented in the expectation of immediate payment in full. If a bill is not paid, a collections company is usually given the responsibility of collecting the amount due and service is terminated. Under English law, a person who makes off without paying the bill, or who dishonestly secures a remission in the amount payable, commits an offence under the Theft Act 1978. When a company cannot pay its bills, it is said to be insolvent.
These two words are generally used interchangeably.
Re: Do the 3 letters work??
Thanks, but why do we omit the postcode?
Because it defines us as part of the corporation / agent of the Crown.
So why leave UK Corp. Makes no sense IMO.

Re: Do the 3 letters work??
From what I picked up from the old site, the basic strategy for dealing with debt collectors can be summed as either ignore letters from ebt collectors unitl they threathen legal action or, use the three letters.
For great majority of cases the three letters and the estople work for those who choose go that route.

Hi Ausk
if you ignore letters ,then you get a letter( Threaten legal action ), it maybe to late to use the three letters ,
on this site we use the three letters estoppel and the bill and we have a new letter to send with the bill,
we want to stop them before any legal action is taken ,

Agreed. The advice on the old site to ignore was certainly not good advice if you ask me. You're better fighting back right from the start
