Apparantly the number of jewish people that died in the holocaust is nearer 1.5m.

The six million does not add up to me over the time period of the war so I reckon this is more plausable.

I cannot recall off the top of my head ,but from many sources over time .But certainly not from Della Pergola of the Hebrew university of Jerusalem as per your link.

May i suggest you take a look at the Holocaust handbooks collection .

conflicting historical recount

I dont know much about it but a friends child at school was being taught that 1.5m died and, as we had all been told 6m, i deigned to correct them. I was told to check my figures and read somewhere that signs or notices have been changed in europe (poland?) from 6m to 1.5m.

I asked a learned member of the orthodox community and was suprised that they had to look it up on the internet.

I sincerely apologise if this deeply upsets anyone, but literally i am confused with the different reports when i tried to look into it.

Perhaps you could search your mind for one or two of your many sources. Perhaps you could explain why you seem to think Della Pergola is not a reliable source but Germar Rudolf is.

I never mentioned Germar Rudolf,
I said try reading the holocaust handbook series ,written by many authors.
The latest one i read was Breaking the spell by Nick Kollerstrom , very well researched and links for every point made .
I have come to the conclusions i have by the research i have done .If your research draws you to a different conclusion then so be it.

If I remember rightly they have been using the six million figure since the 186o's and quoting it up to the end of the second world war!
Someone did an article on it based on newspaper cuttings and it showed about half a dozen times since the 1860's with various war/refugee situations.
