The Foods I Always Try and Eat

Post by Phillpots on Sat Jul 01, 2017 4:13 pm

This is what I try and add to most of my cooking.

Garlic

Chillies (whole/ground)

Ground Tumeric

Ground Sumac

Sea or rock salt

Black Pepper

Onions

Olives (whole and oil)

Tomatoes

I add tomatoes (home grown and fresh) to the list and not bought in.

Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, grapes, and many other fruit and berries I eat.

Spinach, raw and cooked.

Spring onions straight out of the ground.

Broccoli raw and cooked

Dandelion leaves in mixed salads, nothing finer.

Water with a slice of lemon in it, not peeled lemon, and left overnight in the fridge.

Home made flavoured waters using pure water and fresh fruits crushed into the water.

Good list. I don't grow my own food so I must admit I have to buy and even more guilty from supermarkets. I have started using salad spinach now and have heard of dandelion leaves before so might give that a go. Lemon yes but sometimes it's hard to buy the unwaxed ones. I try and drink bottled water only.

Peanut Butter.
Peanuts are rich in monounsaturated fats, which have been shown to decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease. They’re also packed with protein—just ¼ cup contains 19 percent of the recommended daily intake.
and Paprika.
High in Vitamin E.

Love peanuts. I often roast chashew and almonds drizzled with some oil and sprinkled with crushed sea salt and any spice of my choice. Almonds I believe are one of only a few nuts that are alkaline.
