I'm sceptical.  That video is actually a screenshot of someone else's video from six months ago, but unfortunately I can't receive sound at the moment.  Does the video give any source for his assertion? (Or I suppose I should say for the original author's assertion).

Nothing on his web site other than a letter from his MP in 2009 saying it's not going to happen.

Can't remember if there is a source for his assertions, but more over seems to be repeating a lot of info that's in the public domain.

I'll need to listen some time when I can get audio.  My impulse at the moment is to say that common law is such a fundamental part of our legal systems that it won't be going away.  Although it's true that over the years legislation has been brought in to codify what were formerly common law offences (rape, suicide for example).  On the other hand in civil proceedings I can't see how we could do without case law.

Its total drivel and the opinion of one, or a few uneducated idiots for screen time and possibly fame and certainly scaremongering.

When we leave the EU much of their legislation will remain in force because it is ratified into English Common law by current EU legislation and will have to remain until it is either repealed or new legal/lawful precedents are set which overrules it and this can only be done by Common Law.
We will have many common standards and these will be on items such as vehicles so should we be concerned? no, because a standard is not law and if we look at cars we see that Toyota build their Avensis in Derby for the entire world, and each part of the world has different standards and the same car is built to meet thiose standards.

Where we do need concern is with senior judges as many of the highest ranking judges are trained in EU legislation/law and if they set a new precedent, our focus should be on "is it akin, similar, or mirroring EU legislation" in which case judges will be introducing EU legislation through the back door.

Just watched it with sound and it comes across as just a lot of rather confused assertions with no source or authority quoted. Some nonsense about statutes requiring consent. I also think he's confused about what common law actually is.
