But they’re not compulsory in restaurants - for obvious reasons - more nonsense / utter BS.

Or pubs and on planes if you are sleeping, eating or drinking, so not being worn on the holiday flights then as this appears to be all they do; drink themselves into oblivion and sleep it off and the flight crews leave them as they aren't troublesome while asleep.

This is just more masonic mockery. Face masks mandatory in shops yet the next headline asks in which shops do we have to wear one. Hopefully, most people will be treating this idiocy with the contempt it deserves todayMasks - Page 2 -lu2jb10

I usually shop earlier in the week, I have now left it until today. I await with
intrest to see if I am the only one in the supermarket maskless or if I get hassle
from the staff and abuse from the sheep.

Well I went and did my shopping, and my conclusion is we are all fecked.

Went to Aldi ,letchworth. Small sign at entrance "please wear a mask" went in
unchallenged .I was the ONLY customer the entire time with no mask, although 3
members of staff did not have them. No one said anything to me ,although I
suspect that as none showed any signs of a functioning brain that was the reason.

Insane isn't it mate... "Baa, Baa". It's a shame we do not have an emoji for a sheep!

People have shown how truly dumb they are. It's actually quite sad that that's what we, as a whole (not us critical thinkers) have become Sad

Coronavirus: Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s among supermarkets refusing to enforce face-mask rules

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/coronavirus-asda-tesco-and-sainsbury-s-among-supermarkets-refusing-to-enforce-face-mask-rules/ar-BB1785Mq?ocid=msedgntp

Supermarket giants have said they will not enforce new laws that make it compulsory for customers to wear face masks from Friday.

Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda are among the retailers who have said they will not challenge customers failing to wear a face covering and that it falls on police to penalise people.

After weeks of mixed messages, the government issued guidance on regulations that require people to wear masks in shops, takeaways, supermarkets, shopping centres and transport hubs on Thursday.

The laws give police new powers to issue a £100 fine to those who defy the rules.

However, John Apter, the national chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales, said forces do not have the capacity to ensure every person who enters a store is wearing a face covering, and urged shops to refuse entry to anyone not obeying the law.

He added: “It is our members who are expected to police what is a new way of living and I would urge retail outlets to play their part in making the rules crystal clear; if you are not wearing a face covering then you are not coming in.

“Officers will be there to help stores if needed — but only as a last resort, as we simply do not have the resources.”

The government said the responsibility for wearing a mask “sits with individuals”, but added that businesses should “take reasonable steps to encourage customers to follow the law”.

Several retailers have said they encourage compliance with the rules but are reluctant to police them.

Tesco said “it will be for the police to enforce” the law and Sainsbury’s said it “won’t be challenging customers without a mask” but will ask everyone to play their part and wear one.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson added: “Posters will be displayed inside and outside our stores and there will be regular tannoy announcements asking customers to follow the new rules, but our colleagues will not be responsible for enforcing them.”

Asda, meanwhile, said it strongly encourages customers to wear face coverings and will be clear on its messaging of the rules on displays, on its radio station and via tannoy announcements.

But a spokesperson for the retailer said it believes “it is ultimately the responsibility of the relevant authorities to police this”.

Iceland also said it will not put its staff “at risk by asking them to police” the regulations, while Costa Coffee said it would not challenge customers not wearing a mask.

Several retailers, including Tesco, Asda and Aldi, will sell face coverings at the entrance to their stores, while others have been frank in their messaging on ensuring customers wear masks.

Waitrose said staff would be at the entrance to stores and John Lewis said it will “gently remind customers” of the rules, while Greggs said customers will be “required” to wear a face covering.

Trade organisations criticised the government for taking so long to publish clear guidance after it announced the measure more than a week ago.

Tom Ironside, the director of business and regulation at the British Retail Consortium, said retailers are doing all they can to support the rules but added that government guidance was “overdue”.

Kate Nicholls, the chief executive of UKHospitality, said the government announcement “lacked clarity” and left takeaway shops with little time to “properly brief staff, prepare signage and take steps to encourage compliance”.

The British Medical Association (BMA) echoed the criticism, saying the guidance was helpful, but the introduction of the face mask laws was “long overdue”.

The doctors’ trade union was also critical of the decision to make some venues, including restaurants, pubs, gyms, hairdressers, beauty salons, leisure centres, cinemas, concert halls and theatres, exempt from the rules.

Dr Chaand Nagpaul, the BMA’s council chair, said the virus “does not discriminate between buildings” and that there must be “an absolute assurance” that other mitigating measures — such as screens and physical distancing — are in place at those sites.

The laws could be in place until at least January.

Interestingly
This story was buried 3/4 of the way down the page.
Have actually been looking at the MSM today and the face nappy story has been conspicuous by its absence from the main headlines.
I may be wrong but I think even the MSM know they're onto a loser which is probably why they are under reporting it.

Haven't been to a shop today but I have my disability horizons lanyard ready as I think they will steadily crack down on this.

They really do regard us as errant children:

".. David Potts, the chief executive of Morrisons, said the most effective measure to ensure customers wore masks would be peer pressure.."

You’ll find that whilst it is unusual for the MSM to lie, it will bury certain news items and focus on other news items that fit in with its agenda of propaganda... They also tailor interviews / questions such that most of the (sheeple) audience are left with a certain obscured (but unbeknown to them) view which again fits their agenda...

When they keep on doing this and doing this and doing this, sheeple become brainwashed...

before just like in some of those 80's films (back to future II or III - I think where they went forward in time & Biff was in charge) there will be MEGA SUPERMARKET for what you get today, MEGA CAR STORE for buying a car & so on, everything will be controlled by MEGA.... price fixing will be rife & designed to keep us all slaves for eternity. Everything purchased on the never never.

To add to this post, today it was the turn of Morrisons and to add insult to injury the Government have added exemption documents to the yougov website and surprise, surprise you can download them in printable form and for loading onto an elecronic device so thats what I did.

Got to Morrisons with no masks, went to the entrance complete with security, waved my mobile at them with this docement on and the lad on the door looked and said "that's fine, welcome to Morrisons" and that was it, no problems from any other customers or staff except for an issue with an old lady who had difficulty breathing and I pulled her mask off for her. Staff saw and got a nearby trolley for her to sit on and told her to leave the mask off, well done Morrisons staff.

On the way out we shouted goodbye and he asked if he could have a word and I said yes so he got his mate to cover the door and asked if I helped his auntie with an issue and said what it was, then said he was her nephew and could he ask about the issues if he refused entry to people, so I sat outside with him. I explained that not all people have visible disabilities and as he isn't a doctor he cannot give an opinion as to whether they have any conditions or not and if he does he can be prosecuted for giving medical opinion which is a serious criminal offence, secondly, if he tries to question anyone he would be in breach of GDPR or general data protection regulations 2018 as this constituted personal data which is someone's intellectual property which they own. Finally I explained about the equalities act 2010 and this interested him so we walked over to my can and I gave him a copy I had; he concluded that if anyone had a badge he couldn't stop them, ask them any questions, and he would be committing a criminal offence and also that Morrisons would be liable; he got it.

I just thought of a song that's quite apt for the current times.

To the tune of I'm a Believer ( the Monkees)

"Can't see may face, cos' I'm a believer.
Gonna wear my mask, for the rest of my life.
I'm just a sheep
I believe what the govt tell me every time"
