Unusual Police Activity

Since November 2017 several people have noticed some strange activity by the Police and tonight I have had time to read it all and put a synopsis together for ease of reading, and it may or may not be linked to:

Unique patterns of policing have been noticed at night which always involve Traffic cars fitted with video surveillance equipment creeping around areas not normally policed at night and in most cases where there has been policing it was with a local car and not a traffic car, this has been noted in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire by people with CCTV cameras who have reviewed their footage of a night, or several days and nights events.

Traffic vehicles have constantly driven around an area in circles, and often they turn around and drive back, is this unusual? yes, because most of these areas never have any police patrols at night and those who do only have a local car come round once, but what was noticable was the amount of times the traffic car travelled around an area, along with the times they travel round. It has been noted that the earliest time they began coming around was just after 2 am and the latest time they travelled around was 6.10 am which means a night shift is doing this, it has also been noted that they only come around for one night a week and then leave it and repeat it the following week, and that in all cases it was a Thursday night in Derbyshire, Tuesday and Thursday night in Nottinghamshire, and Wednesday nights in Leicestershire.
In the worst case I have seen footage of the same police traffic car travelled the same stretch of road 14 times in under an hour.

Nobody thought anything of it until a chance encounter occured and it started to connect, and several people noticed the same thing happening and began reviewing their CCTV footage.

In most cases the stretches of road covered were the main route/routes into housing estates which have the highest volumes of traffic and in many cases the police cars often pulled up and sat for several minutes before moving off again.

Is it something genuine, I think not for the following reasons:

In every case I suggested those noticing it searched for an incident in an area on that day, nobody could find anything in their local newspapers, on the internet, and even on social media.

If there were an incident, in most cases it would be a local car and not a traffic car, and there would usually be at least two or more local cars and not the same traffic car.

If it were an emergency they would attend with blue lights flashing.

If it were intelligence gathering they would use a plain vehicle and not a marked traffic car.

The frequency of the repeated passing of the police car, if it were on ANPR duties it would go one way and then back, and then move to another area.

If anyone is suspicious and has a CCTV camera with recording equipment then feel free to set it up even if it is in a window, and at an angle so it catches the number plate to verify it as the same vehicle, or high up so it can catch the roof number of the vehicle to verify it as the same vehicle, and post your findings here so we can find out the extent of these activities.

Is this happening in your village? How are you all dealing with it together?

No, we have a private road into it which I own, no plod would dare do this near me.

It appears to be happening in the aforementioned counties up to now, but if it is happening elsewhere it is worth all of us watching and post so we can assess the full extent of it; up to now what we have seen is beyond coincidence which is why I posted so everyone can begin to watch their CCTV cameras to see how widespread this is.

Are you reading this correctly Handle? this isn't a one off incident as the same car is travelling the same sections of road repeatedly on the same nights foe several weeks and months; there is no tip off.

ok, but they may have intel that something is going to happen, but do not know when. Otherwise what other explanation could there be?

I took my dog for a walk about 2 weeks ago, and i noticed a police van on the other side of a field. I noticed that it slowly moved off and started to drive around to my side of the field, came up to me, turned round and went back. Clearly they thought I was someone else. Maybe looking for drug dealers...?
