Most Complete Bank Giro Credit
This is the most complete example I can get. all from our very very friendly neighborhood gas company, I have singled it out so as to not get 'lost' in the depths of goodf
please notice 'Please do not write in the area below or fold this voucher', it stays it all?:
Examples I have managed to get, BG, SSE, EON if anyone could supply from other companies or even different from companies posted so far, it will show the varying depths of info we get.
If anyone has examples they want to post please use this thread (make sure you edit out ANY personal info):

Re: Most Complete Bank Giro Credit
here is another great example of what as close to a complete Joint Giro looks like.
note the 'transcash' logo, the 'Reference', the 'Credit Acc No', below the thick black box 'CHEQUE ACCEPTABLE'- its a cueque, the 'sort code'.
missing is the bar code for clearing through post office clearing system.
Drawer - Alliance & Licester
Drawee - Alliance & Licester (could be M&S Bank? not sure why that's there, the 1st I've seen with 3 banks listed)
Payee - M&S Bank? using Barclays Bank clearing facilities - why would 1 bank use another's for clearing? not impossible I would imagine.
For Payee there is no utility Co listed so assuming this joint giro is for M&S?

Re: Most Complete Bank Giro Credit
have a good look at your respective tear off slip, its a good template for a BOE but compared to a hand written cheque are there any words for the amount there? Not in my case so the 'cheque' is issued for value (a concept)
look at sect9 BOE act 1882:
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Vict/45-46/61/section/9
(2)Where the sum payable is expressed in words and also in figures, and there is a discrepancy between the two, the sum denoted by the words is the amount payable.
In other words taking on board the 4 corner rule, how much has the tear off slip been issued for?

Re: Most Complete Bank Giro Credit
at last a possible example of what OVO give out. NB this may not be correct BGC with added value because there is too much info missing. However notice what would have been the barcode to the left of where is written 'Natwest - OVO Electricty Ltd, the referenced account is contained in that, as should be contained in all BGC's with added value (none TransCash logo)
