IT advice please

Long story as short as possible,

Before leaving England i checked with my bank (TSB) that i could still access my internet banking.This involves 2 passwords 1 memorable info & a one time passcode they send via text. I was assured i only needed to nominate a number in Aus. This i did ,it failed. I then purchased a new sim & added $50 to it,this also failed due to
" incorrect number"
As the only way to contact them is a phone number or search for their HO address. I spent over 2 hours on the phone to them and helpdesk were unable to resolve the problem.
Obviously mailing the uk would take far too long. As a result i was forced to trawl the internet in an attempt to find an email address for someone. Eventually i found this site https://newapp.anymailfinder.com/search/single ,it provided 2714 email addresses for TSB. (a good one to bookmark) I have since been emailing the Head of Communications and Head of Complaints,both consistently passed the buck and started ignoring me. In desperation i emailed their CEO ,which immediately woke them up. However they still seem unable to rectify the problem and want to set up a call with me, which i have declined telling them i now need all contacts documented.
My debit card works for some things but not others .

I left England on 16th Oct ,its now 8th Dec with no access.

Its ironic that they message and call me on the very number their system rejects.They admitted they had the same problem with others in Aus earlier in the year.
A complaint has been lodged with the FOC but they cannot action anything until TSB have had 8 weeks to sort it.

My question is does anyone here have any ideas i can suggest to these dumbasses .

I have accounts with TSB. If you have a smart phone can you get their app installed and registered? Sone things, for example debit card transactions, can be verified with the app. That takes phone numbers out of the equation,

Thanks FF, i have just tried that . It requires the phone number and their system will not accept it.
They have obviously installed a system with inherent problems, Give a lot of confidence when they want everybody to go digital.

Unfortunately lots of banks seem to have 100% reliance on mobile phones. Virgin and (I think) Santander are the same, certain things need to be verified and the only options are their app, or text to registered mobile. Lloyds are an exception, you can set up alternative numbers an these can include ordinary voice calls.

It's pretty easy to set up a SIP account with a UK geographic number, then access that from anywhere in the world. But that's voice only, I'm not aware of one that can receive texts.

Might be worth looking at this. Use the free service just for a one off, for example to get the app registered ...

By what is happening and the fact they admit to others having in Aus having the same problem earlier in the year,its become clear their system will not recognise +61 prefixes. Surely that should be an easy fix,or is it they just cannot be bothered ?
