Perpetual Fear

How many people realise the system tries to keep us in fear and have many accomplices, mainly the news and media outlets and I will give a couple of examples of this on the same day.

First the media headline of you can be fined £200 for doing something most people do in their cars and this was their sensationalist headline and reading the article said something different as it said that if you went into mucky D's and paid for your (alleged) meal by phone yopu would be breaking the law and fined £200: really. They then proclaimed it was now in the Highway Code and that makes it law.

First things first, anything in the highway code is NOT law as it is guidance and while some things may be criminal offences most are not and those that are are covered by other legislation and not the giudance of the highway code as its title says what it is, a code of the highway.
Issue two is even simpler as the laws of the road only apply to public roads, no take away that I know of is on a public road and their drive through sections are on THEIR private property and the laws do not extend to their private property or indeed anyones private property.

Another fear porn story.

On the same day we had a weather warning and it was a yellow warning whatever they are so I read the article which said we were getting 60MPH winds and I asked if I had been on the curry again, but hey; when I read some more it said I had to be aware of 6 Metre waves and flying beach furniture and this concerned me immensely as I am in Derbyshire and cannot be further away from the sea, we have either has some very serious coastal erosion or it is another scare story to put you in fear and my poly tunnel was fine.

And only today we had a weather warning, but a warning of what??? actually trying to put people in fear that it might drop to -2 over the weekend so nothing to be scared of at all because many of us used to walk to school in lower temperatures so what was it doing other then promote fear.
