I would guess the arrest is for recording in a Court room. Whether they charge him or not will be another thing as the Judge quite clearly states it's an administrative hearing.

Habeas corpus

I'm not sure but would the Police not have to somehow breach P.A.C.E before you could rely on or use Habeas Corpus. If I remember rightly Maggie suspended or did something to having a right to Habeas Corpus so she could lock up IRA suspects in the 70's and didn't they do it again with Guantanamo Bay.

Hey,

I suspect the IRA thing was due to the way they were classified as they were technically prisoners of war.

Not sure on the exact number but, about 200 people (generally speaking) used Habeas corpus at Guantanamo.

it was a friday night,so they will probably let him out monday with no charge.
meanwhile they will take a copy of all his work,
Make a note of backdoors on his Laptop,
in case they want to Plant anything on it later,
etc.
It is to intimidate more than anything.
I doubt they would want to try and defend their charge in court.

i would get a new pc and keep the old one offline ,even dismantle it. uninstall wifi/modem, HD's, never transfer any files from it , use the printer to copy and scan the printouts of any work, add scanned image to new machine(this will ensure no mallware gets copied and the work is available to reference on new machine)

They shouldn't be able to keep him until Monday morning, it's not like it used to be before the 80's when they had to charge you and get you into Court at the first available sitting. I don't think it benefits the Police these days as I think they have to release you after 24 hours.

It is 24 hours unless they apply to the court for an extension, and we can guess what the courts answer will be.

Thanks assassin. It was a long time ago I looked at it as, I was curious of all the 'deals' that were being struck to release prisoners early and, seem to recall something about their status as prisoners being part of the reason.
