Greetings
i tried to help my brother when he received the dreaded 'come in for an assessment' letter from ATOS but i have more enthusiasm than knowledge and possibly made his situation worse.
Does anyone know a good source of info for dealing with these scoundrels? He's an amputee who has now lost his job and had benefits stopped, and because benefits stopped mobility are looking to take back his car.
i seem to remember a vid where the speaker mentioned a DWP handbook of regs but of course have forgotten details - anyone know if it exists, if it is helpful and how to get one?
Any/all info appreciated, if i get the chance to help him will post updates up to the conclusion of the matter, i'm sure others could benefit from this sort of info.
Cheers!

Re: DWP
Hi,iamani,
Not quite what you require but it looks as if you could adapt to suit to some extent.
Last week i downloaded a 6 page guide from the Spaniard from his site You & your cash .
Sorry i cannot post it here as every page is copyrighted I think it is available for download at £ 4.95.Maybe of some help in the future.

Re: DWP
As a tip check out if they followed their own procedures during the interview. E.g: Did they go through the original application etc.

Re: DWP
Hi Mike
Thanks for the tip, i am hoping to deal with it from a procedural standpoint. However i probably went off half-cocked in attacking EVERYTHING in the atos letter. i was trying to get a name that could be held liable for any harm, damage or loss to my bro as a result of attending the atos assessment. Atos batted it back to DWP which then sent a letter demanding the reason he missed his appointment, at which point my bro got scared and capitulated.
That was the end of my involvement. Whatever he told them the reason was they cancelled his benefits which meant m/bility had to take back his specially-adapted car.
i now look on it as a duty to have his benefits/car reinstated, alongside my own mission.
Cheers!
