Hoist Portfolio Holding account

Hi All,

I am new to this site..

I have received twice a Letter of Claim form this company in the last 2 years. I sent the forms back but and each time I asked for CCA and other documents but they never sent anything back. They just send me a standard letter asking me to contact then to sort the debt or they may take legal action.

The debt will be 6 years in Feb2020 and I guess it is statute barred. There is no proof any payments.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Did Hoist purchase the alleged debt from Egg?

And when you say "there is no proof of any payments" can you confirm whether you yourself have ever actually made a payment?

There’s plenty of help on hand here. A good and friendly bunch to be found, so you won’t feel alone. But to be safe, etc., I recommend that you only take advice from people with at least two or three stars against their profile (but there are exceptions / it doesn’t mean that someone with one star can’t be trusted) because it’s not been unknown for the odd troll ie Debt Purchaser / Debt Collection Agency / solicitor even to pop up masquerading as a legitimate person in need of help but giving out misleading advice. Having said that, the fantastic admins / moderators on here do a sterling job kicking the trolls out!

ALSO: before you post, NEVER use personal details (including reference numbers) and if (?) you’re here for help in relation to debts, never quote alleged debt amounts (just round up to the nearest £1K) and never any dates of the letters your receive or send. If you ever intend to upload photos of the letters you send or receive (but it’s usually best not to) also be mindful and ensure you mask any such details as well as mask any references or barcodes etc that appear on ANY part of their letters eg down the sides...!) Pretty much anything that helps maintain your anonymity due to those potential trolls roaming our posts.

do you have a copy of the original default notice ?

what makes you think feb 2020 is the important date ?

just asking as people make a mistake when it comes to statute barred quite often.

Thanks for all the info.

The card was from 2003 and I stopped paying 2010 and I never heard from them. Barclays bought it from *** in 2012 and I never knew.
I checked my credit file and the default dropped off years ago.

I have a copy of my credit file showing the balance in 2012 which is same as it is now.

I asked Barclays for account statements last year and they sent me 50 pages of zero balance from 2012 up to now. I asked Barclays for CCA and they sent me T&C's pages without my name or any address or account number etc.

So there is no payment to Barclays for more than 6 years or anyone else. Then it was sold to Hoist 2 years ago. But they keep sending me Letter of Claim each year and I send them back and ask for CCA etc but they just ignore it. It is like loop and no ending!

I know they will send me another Letter of Claim shortly. So is there a letter I can send them to ask them to stop this?

you need to try and get a copy of the default notice if possible

i am sure this is statute barred and the default notice would 100% confirm this

i would also remove egg from all of your posts as i bet hoist will have no idea this was an egg card and will always refer to your agreement as being opened with barclaycard
