Will COVID-19 Regulations Kill Off the British Pub?

Many will agree that Pubs are a quintessential institution in Britain, and one which attracts millions of visitors to the country every year. But with the UK clocking in world’s second-highest COVID-19 death toll, the government are determined to regulate personal and group social interaction in the country, and create ever new layers of regulation – mandating personal protective equipment for hospitality workers, supposedly to protect against the dreaded “Second Wave” of a coronavirus outbreak.

Moreover, Pubs are one of the few places where people can go to meet friends, family and engage in discussion with members of their community, so this isn’t just an economic issue – it’s also a wider social issue.

Is all of this public health red tape making business unsustainable for independent venues?

I knew insanity would prevail when the pubs opened just as the same in the shops, I use one local shop only which is for now anyway still pretty normal, I have more self respect than to put up with any of the sh*t put in place & as a man who likes a pint of real ale in in a proper pub for me I will forever do without if landlords are stupid enough to put up with this sh*t, I will be going nowhere near a pub, they can all shut for me if this is the future.

I could be wrong but yet again the measures in place are once again 'guidelines' & once again not legal requirements but just as the sheep/slaves complied with social distancing that has never had a legal requirement i'm sure they will with this.

From that weekend the pubs/restaurants/cafes were told to shut if the people pf this country had said bollox & most stayed open, likewise the Monday the lockdown was imposed & most people said bollox we would not be living (well hardly living is it) under this hell right now.

Whether legal or not - do not comply, the rule of law is dead, this is tyranny, a crime against humanity, a war against humanity - stand strong & oppose it!

Will COVID-19 Regulations Kill Off the British Pub? Empty Re: Will COVID-19 Regulations Kill Off the British Pub?

Multiple objectives Kestrel, firstly to accelerate the agenda of cash removal by claiming chip and pin or credit card only, spying: to monitor what is being spent and by whom and more importantly, where.
To divide the nation by preventing people meeting and discussing issues and problems and once again spying as it forces people online to speak to their families and friends, and to connect a person or persons to groups of people.

Please feel free to add more.

Yes assassin I agree with you, this obsession of knowing our every move etc is disturbing too & I like others have done what I can over the years to 'break free', however where we are now as much I would like to return prior to pre Covid hoax days (as anyone of sound mind would), they can shove their new normal & I will where possible boycott/not use anyone playing ball with it, there appears as I say in most cases to be 'guidelines only' which can be ignored but so many go along with it - the social distancing nonsense been a prime example of that.

I am setting myself mentally to no longer to be part of society unless there is a dramatic awakening & non-compliance, as I say I have more self respect than to put up with this sh*t.

I boycotted a local butcher early on in the lockdown after trying to let him know what was going on & left him some info, a few week later he had a rainbow in his window, he'll get no more business off me.

Thats how to do it, any business closed during lockdown needs all the cash they can get.
