Hiya people had a letter from Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd stating the following.

Your account details have been passed to us by HSBC UK BANK PLC to act as a collection agent and we will be dealing with your account.

We will be contact with you in the coming days by letter and / or phone in order to discuss your repayment options in details

The debt was for a normal bank account

Can someone confirm are moorcroft a debt collection agency or a debt purchaser.

Debt Collection Agents and Solicitors:
For a Debt Collection Agent ('DCA') or a solicitor* we do not use the NoCA or the affidavit described above. Instead, simply send the following lines (in italics) ten days apart (you will send the following lines three times in total) and keep proof of posting. Ignore whatever they come back with as they will never have all of the financial instruments we demand.

Got it thank you

Carry on with the process ,whether its the revised 3 letters or the new
NoCA they are all completely clear.
i guess it must be the falling standards of the education (brain washing) system.

Daveiron

It's the new revised adapted letter which is sent 3 times 10 days apart as they are a debt collector and not debt purchaser I will only send the new NoCA letters to debt purchasers.

As per DaveIron. In effect, ignore the tripe they reply with and continue with the process Wink The person dealing with your letters will be at the lower ranks of Moorcroft, hence why they won’t understand. But that’s is of course their problem, not yours. It’s for them to escalate internally until someone does understand.

And yes, as Moorcroft are DCAs, you don’t use the NoCA, you use the simple few sentences provided in the NEW GOODF section

For fun, you could precede your next letter with the following paragraph:

“I would only be too happy to help you understand the content of my previous letter dated <date> should you require such an education on conditional acceptance. My rate will be £500 per lesson. Would you care to accept?”

Good morning Compaq7500. To be clear, using the above would have been ‘fun’ if you were using the NoCA. But as you are dealing with a DCA not a DP, then this ‘for fun’ paragraph would not be quite right (unless you mistakenly did use the NoCA as your first letter to Moorcroft).

Can you be clear as to what you first sent to Moorcroft? A NoCA for DPs or the simple sentences for DCAs provided in the NEW GOODF section?

MrBlue I used an alternative of your simple sentences as moorcroft are a debt collector as advised in your GOODF section, 2nd simple letter being sent to moorcroft on the 9th of September.

OK yes, thought as much. As such, Moorcroft saying that they didn’t understand what you’d asked / stated really doesn’t make sense (as those sentences are simple)! Then again, out of all of the DCAs I have dealt with (none have been effective) Moorcroft - or lesscroft - really are pathetic… You’ll soon shake them off. You’ll also find they send pretty much the same letter over and over (yes, they use their own templates). You see the ‘game’ now? Wink

Same old excuses from smallcroft, they know exactly what you are asking for and are merely trying to fob you off, its their usual tactics, stick exactly to the process and ignore their cr*p.

I would charge them £500 per hour nunc pro tunc and not per lesson but I am just rotten.

Think about this for a moment, they employ staff doing their dirty work and they train them, they are taught all the rhetoric and diatribes with the sole objective of seeing if you crack, concede, or can he harassed, as long as you can't they will give up. Do they not train their staff adequately? if not its their problem and not yours. Vicarious liability springs to mind.

To be fair to Moorcroft, as I wouldn't want to upset them (bless), ALL DCAs can be renamed more suitably, because they are all useless and always give up / fail when it comes to being faced with our GOODF letters. And they're all very good at wasting their money...
