SAR response from Credit card company/bank Empty SAR response from Credit card company/bank

Good afternoon all,

Just received a reply from the high street bank in relation to the SAR request in which full name, address and DOB were supplied. Their reply included the following!

We will need further information before auctioning your request.
Sort codes,
Account numbers,
Opening and closing dates,
Previous names,
Full address history,
Date of birth.

We will require proof of ID. Utility bill, driving licence, passport etc (one of).

WE can send your SAR by email if you require so send your request via email and we will send you a pin to access your data.

From reading around the site and forums, I see that only Royal Mail delivery is acceptable. Do I presume I have the right to demand hard copy of the files by this method?
Although previous banking customer with this bank, my SAR is to defend an a CC. Why should I provide them with so much detail when surely my DOB, ADDRESS and Name should suffice, or am I just being too blo*dy minded?

The details you have provided are enough. That’s all I provided. Unless, perhaps, if your address has changed? There’s no way they can’t locate any previous accounts with that information. And the key thing is your signature. Draw their attention to your signature which they will also have a copy of (when you signed for the loan / credit card etc). This WILL be enough…

Insist on receiving a hard copy NOT an email. You are perfectly entitled to that. So if you write again, taking the above into consideration, do NOT accept any more BS from them. Bottom line: they’re trying to save money (the leg work) hence the email.

What’s the name of the bank?

MrBlue2015

Thank you so much.
To be fair, I may have squiggled a signature rather than a true however, all the other info supplied is accurate.
I will ensure the reply has a true version.
Do I have to supply them with proof of ID?
Thank you,
BB

No you dont have to supply anything more,Inform them that unless they
comply with your request ,you will make an immediate complaint to the IOC.

Also when you sign anything ,put the words all rights reserved just below
where the signature will be and make sure part of the signature goes over it.
It serves two purposes 1. it reserves your rights 2 it stops them lifting your
signature and putting it somewhere else.

Great, additional advice from DaveIron. In effect, you’ll have them cornered.

Well, the situation continues.
Three times I wrote to Tw*t Nest and threatened IOC.
I have received yet another template type letter from them saying much the same as before.
I have complained to the IOC online and whilst I have a reference from them, I have heard nothing further from them regarding the antics of Tw*at West or what they are doing to investigate.
I have given more detail to the bank to get them to supply the SAR but still they continue with their same response to engage via email or telephone and to supply driving licence or passport etc.
Any suggestions as to what I can do further please?
Thanks,
BB

Quick question, is the address you are giving them now ,the same as one
they have previously sent statements etc or anything containing your
personal data?

All I can suggest is chase the ICO over and over if need be. The ICO need to deal with them!

They have been advised of changes of address over the years including an up to date one.
They are in my opinion not fully reading my letters which have even included account details to make it absolutely clear.

Finally they sent details of credit card but not banking history. They seemed to offer the details just before the affidavit.
