I would consider your view Daveiron,

but, Was it suggested that it was Law, for the public house owners to fill and send in the Census forms ?

or is that not the case ?

and can it be to ones advantage or disadvantage to  fill them in or not, if its not Law.

I do have preference for ones decisions on privacy.

BUT as far as I recall, if you are not shown as being on the Electoral list, that can have certain restrictions
on others things that one may do or apply for ! such as for eg, maybe apply for a loan or a job.

This article suggest that you can be fined upto a 1000 GBP if you dont fill it and send it in .

Have you managed to avoid filling and sending them in during the past and also avoid getting fined ?

I can only assume when the form refers to the word "YOU"  that it means the House owner / s

As to the Govts rights to dictate, in this situation or anything else.

Reading some of the things on this forum has opened my eyes or mind to things that I was not aware about.
So its hard at least for me to know the answer/s to you question or other Govt related demands.

Then if they did attempt to contact anyone with the threat of a fine, whether or not they can do very much
if you ignore it or do not agree to pay it.. such as will they attempt to send in High Enforcement Bailiffs or even the police to arrest them.

Then there may be things that one could do to delay the situation.or offer to pay it if they able to do so
in the future. but when that maybe, could be the question ! ?

Those who have not filled in such forms..say on more than one occasion and so far seemed to have not been further challenged.. that may help answer the question !

Not been registered since I wrote to the Registrar explaining that no-one in the (addressed) dwelling wished to be recorded on his register, and would he please remove all names associated with it. He replied with no threat of a fine but warning me that I would lose my right to vote !

We politely told all census callers that we were thinking about filling in their form, not refusing to. We are still thinking....

Let us be honest,who...in their right mind, would want to vote anyway.

I did not return the last two census forms. I read the envelope, it did not say you had to fill it in, it said your response was required by law. My response was not filling it in & chucking it in the bin.
