Can't you just take your money straight out of the account each time your benefits are paid?

Yes I can of course, but I am feed up with them taking the pee it's not one bank,

Dwp told me no bank account no money, but I am trying to me a free woman

I don't like them having so much control over me.

And they charged me £12 for going 12p overdrawn

Thanks

Try researching local community banks or credit unions in your area.

this below is from MSE;
For example, some offer 'budgeting accounts', where you pay in a fixed amount each week or month to pay agreed household bills on your behalf, or 'benefits direct accounts', where your benefits are paid directly to the credit union and you can withdraw cash needed for day-to-day spending.

It should be remembered that they operate with members money. So under no
circumstancies should anyone attempt to use any 'Get out of debt' method .

If you can't use a bank account

You can't get cheque payments for benefits paid by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

How you get paid your benefits will depend on who pays them. Most benefits are paid by the DWP. Your benefits will be paid by HMRC if you get either:

Working or Child Tax Credits

Child Benefit

If your benefits are paid by the DWP

The DWP will pay you using the Payment Exception Service. You'll be able to collect your benefit from a PayPoint outlet in local shops and newsagents. You can search for your nearest store on the PayPoint website.

The DWP will send you vouchers by text message, email or post. You'll need your voucher, a memorable date and proof of ID in order to collect your cash. The DWP does not need your agreement in order to pay you in this way, so if you cannot or do not wish to be paid into an account, the Payment Exception Service will be the only other option. Find out more about the Payment Exception Service on the GOV.UK website.
