Capquest

I have been making a £5.00 monthly payment to Capquest for many years with no communication at all, which was for an outstanding debt with HBOS. I have received a letter from Capquest saying that they are writing to confirm a change in legal ownership of my account (Notice of Assignment). It says the account has been assigned from Capquest Investments Ltd to Intrum Poplar Designated Activity Company. As of this date, all rights and obligations of Capquest Investments Ltd have been assigned to them and refers to the balance outstanding and that all payments since said date have been transferred to them.

It then goes onto say that Intrum have appointed Capquest Debt Recovery Ltd as an administrator of my account and any further communications will come from them, which is who the letter is from! There is a separate letter from Capquest Investments Ltd included stating that they have assigned ownership of my account to Intrum who now own all interest and rights to the credit agreement. It states my balance and any payments should be made to Capquest and any payments made to Capquest Investments Ltd will be forwarded to Capquest - all very confusing!

Finally, it states that as a result of the change in ownership, and in line with Data Protection Act, Capquest is now the Data Controller of my personal data contained in the records of this account.

I appreciate that I have acknowledged the debt but this was from many years ago.

Please can someone advise of my next steps?

Welcome, Dont worry about your acknowledgment of a debt,you were
never given full disclosure .

If you want rid of this you will need to study the links, do not copy /paste

Thank you and I do understand. I think the only thing I'm not clear about is whether I send the letter to all 3 of them or just to Capquest Debt Recovery Ltd who sent the letter on behalf of Intrum.

As Intrum have purchased the alleged debt ,i would start by sending
notice 1 to them.As they would be the new claimant.

If Capquest contact you ,they can be seen off.

Thank you, appreciated. It appears that Intrum is a group and one of the Directors has set up this company, Intrum Poplar Designated Activity Company in Dublin, Ireland.
