Hi guys, my brother in law asked me if there was a better way round this situation.

So basically (he is a bit away with the fairies at times) he has recently bought the van from a main agent and was under the impression that he didnt have to tav it for three years, I explained that was MOT not road tax!
It is registered in he’s company name so I dont think we can go down the road of ‘the man’??

He had received one a week before but my sister bless her just paid it (as she does the accounts) because he gets quite a few parking tickets due to the nature of he’s job she failed to mention to him that it was for road tax so when he got the second one and gave it to my sister she said ‘another one’.... yup all hell broke loose lol
My thoughts are to just sincerely apologise on the over sight and see if they suffer it, he obviously taxed it the very next day, thought I pop the question out there because he is commerce rules are different

I agree with you SS ,its the acting in commerce where hes screwed.
I think he would be wise to just pay it because they will add costs as well.
Unless anyone else has anymore suggestions.
For the future he could look into operating the business 'in the private'
but would need to research it fully.

I did say that to him but was worth an ask, they may let him off if he states under the circumstances he's head aint with it but that's the best I can think of.
