Purchased Used car, thew con rod after 4 weeks, 40,000mi on clock, can we get out of the finance?

In march I got a new to me, used car, only 44k miles on clock.
Absolutely beaut of a car. Gave it t my daughter as a present.
Driving home after work, the engine literally exploded as it threw a connecting rod out of the block.
The cars sat at the dealer now for a week,
The dealers agreed its covered under warranty....BUT

on speaking with the dealer we have been dealt with very rudely, which just make me moe suspicious.

this car on on HP finance.

It has an AA warranty that covers £2000 damages, and the dealer ways they will fix the car.
Most likely with an engine swap. Its a Volvo XC60, 2019 model I doubt it can be properly repaired for £2000!

Where do I stand...can i cancel his due to he product failure in such a short time after it was purchased?

This is now 2 weeks after the initial 14 day "you can cancel within the first 2 weeks" clause...

And where do i go for legal advice what kind of solicitor?

There are various rights to reject within 30 days, then different rights during six months. Have a look here ..

Look on citizens advice as they have a lot of information on this.

Basically:
It most be of merchantable quality and it is for the dealer to prove it was of merchantable quality and you have a specific period to reject the car, but you give the supplying dealer the opportunity to repair the car and let him repair the car as any repairs must also be of merchantable quality and guaranteed, if an engine is reconditioned or replaced it should carry a 1 year minimum guarantee.

If after the repair is completed and is not satisfactory then the final right to reject comes in to play and the clock starts again and the repairer becomes liable and not the dealer and it is all backed in law.
