Supply What Does It Mean?

People use words interchangeably to mean the same thing, here transmission & supply. So how do they differ & what does each mean?

With regard to utils:

Transmission. Think of a car, most YT vids on cars will talk of transfering the engine power via the 'transmission', so transmission is to transfer gas, water, & leccy via the pipes & wires (infrastructure) to all buildings both domestic & commercial. Distribution Network Operators (DNO) transmit the gas & leccy whilst Water obviously transmit the water.

Supply. Each gas, water, & leccy is simply a reference to an idea of a commodity (product) or service so as to allow the flow of 'commerce' & nothing else. In other words 'supply' is 1 side of the consideration that helps complete a transaction & commerce. The other is a paying customer ie. debtor & creditor.

Its worth taking these b'stards to task & ask questions. In order to sell a commodity they will have to show a right to exercise through entitlement. If they manufacture the commodity then show paperwork such as a Manufacturers Statement of Origin, if they purchase & sell on for profit then paperwork to show the commodity is thiers ie a bill with paid accross it, perhaps a remittance slip etc. show its 'owned' & not fraudulently being sold on.

They probably cannot show they own the commodity & the util Cos do not supply anything (gas, water, & leccy) they provide bill & meter services. I did point out a while back they are (or should be) registered on FCA web site. They will claim its so they can handle DD, credit cards etc., that may well be true but they sell financial products/services. No different to any say insurance company.

So no customer = no supply, the relationship is that of Trust & not debtor/creditor. Its free yes all free.

Whilst I challenged gas/leccy I told them I knew this & they took the f'king pi$ss, yes they deal in the energy markets buy/sell on & nothing else also don't own infrastructure (fully admitted to me), water might be different though, for billing its the same as gas/leccy. Here's a bill pay it or else. Stand & deliver if you like? Just like dick turpin.

People argue about the terms, and I'm no apologist for the way the industries were privatised. But it really does keep discussion clearer if we stick to the terms used in legislation, regulation, guidance and, licensing. Put inverted commas if you prefer.

Asking as to me you rhetoric is very similar but not the same as BBB.

I'm not. I've seen references to his material but I don't find Youtube a good way to present technical material. So I've not watched his stuff enough to know if I should be flattered or offended.
