Been sent a fake default notice

Hi everyone
I have been sent a copy of a default notice which is definitely not a true copy as I have the original from barclaycard on barclaycard letterheaded paper. Robway have sent me one on mercers letterheaded paper. Not only that but the date is over a year before the date it was originally sent and the amount due is also wrong.
Would this be a underhand tactics thinking I wouldn't have the original, or a copy and paste error by somebody?
I have not notified them yet of their error is there something I could do with this, or shall I just keep it as ammunition if or when it goes to court. For example, another reason i don't recognise this account due to the wrong dates and figures on the default notice.

If you say you have the original a Judge would simply say 'why were you asking for a copy of you already had the original'.

You could write back saying the default notice is incorrect (ie not Barclaycard, the amount is not one you recognise and the date cannot possibly be correct).

How close is the original default notice date close to the 6 years Statute Barred date?

I guess I was clutching at straws maybe suggesting a fraudulent document or something.

I will give you the full story. I got a goldfish card late 90s who I guess sold it on to barclaycard. I started 3 letter process early 2015 to barclaycard hoping there was no copy of an agreement etc.
Barclaycard sent a copy of the goldfish credit card application which I guess is also deemed to be an agreement, however it was a poor copy where basically you could only read my details I had written in pen. I thought the game was up but continued as at least I wasn't paying anything monthly. Within 6 months of starting the process and without barely any effort from barclaycard, barclaycard had passed it on to hph2. This gave me a bit of hope as the alleged debt is for over £10000 surely barclaycard would have tried harder to collect.

I sent the usual stuff to robway who were acting on behalf of hph2, sent a letter to both stating I was surprised they were the new owners as it was in dispute with barclaycard. Then the 3 letter process. After the estoppel letter I got an offer of sizeable discount which again lifted my spirits, surely they would just go for the full amount if they thought they could win. So basically I have been play ping pong letters with robway stating I have no knowledge of opening an account or entering into a contract with barclaycard or hph2. I asked them to verify by providing
An original credit agreement signed by both myself and barclaycard
A Novation agreement between barclaycard , hph2 and myself
A deed of assignment
Notice of assignment which they sent me
Notice of assignment barclaycard sent me and how it was served
A true and certified copy of the original default notice

So they have sent a copy of hph2 notice of assignment
A copy of goldfish card application just as poor as barclaycards copy so I am guessing there may not be a legible copy.
And the default notice that has the wrong date and amount due.

I have yet to receive a copy of notice of assignment sent by barclaycard, and I am not going to get a copy of a novation agreement. I wont get a copy of the agreement between barclaycard and myself either.

When they sent the goldfish application as the copy of agreement i replied by asking why they have sent an application for a credit card from a completely different company which i am unable to read. Please send a legible copy.

I have had another offer of a discount since.

When they do reply with an explanation of the card application I will then ask for copies of all the above documents between myself and goldfish.

Is there anything else I could do to delay or get rid of this problem?

When ever they offer discounts you can be sure they hold no proof of the claim - highly unlikely at the least, the higher the discount the likelyhood is in your favour.

What percentage was the discount?

The first discourt 33% the second 25%.

Probably hoping you'll pay up with the mindset of - 'the next discount they offer me will be less so if i pay the 25% i'll save some money'.

They will try any tactic they are utter lowlife scum remember that, you are not dealing with decent honest people but criminals!

Just keep asking for the agreement between yourself and Barclaycard and if they say that's it then ask for the Notice of Assignment between Goldfish and Barclaycard.
