New recycling machine turns household waste into fuel Empty Re: New recycling machine turns household waste into fuel

First let me say that the tech looks to be a good idea!

But it's not stopping it at source! Paper bags for fresh stuff, card for stiffness. Bottles for liquids, returned of course.

For example, a bag of rice, in its nice plastic pack has an alternative in India, where the other one kilo is placed in a container that is brought again and again.

In the US this happens in food stores. Paper is used a lot.

When it comes to chemicals, they are up to you the individual (not just you ceylon) as there should be an effort in your house ANYWAY to stop using that which one does not need! I think it's just one , bicarbonate I think, that can clean anything!

Anyone can burn paper and card.

Can anyone think of what can't be covered and considered in a list?

world-first global solution        Suspect
putting the item into use and using the packaging it was wrapped up in to energise your home      ; Consume away kids!!!
utilise 100% of most products you buy           ; haha 100% of "most"  What a Face
reduces the need for waste collections          ; council wont have to do as much  Rolling Eyes
It addresses fuel poverty                             ; so would sharing
It creates carbon savings                             ; brownie points for the sheep
genius solution to stop waste arising            ; Oh no it doesnt!! it enables the companies to carry on !
putting the decision to generate energy and reduce energy bills into your hands.      ; instead of theirs after they took it off you in the first place, neat  Twisted Evil
https://www.myheru.com/
have a little think about it.
you are right tom it actually does nothing to stop the problem (companies using excessive and unnecessary packaging to start with)
It is a "solution" that keeps clean their cycle without them changing a thing. No wonder the queen and RT for that matter are all behind it.

https://www.myheru.com/Technology.html
This one even does this...
"Stage 2: Pyrolysis. The dried matter is then heated up to 300°C, decomposing it in the absence of oxygen. This releases an oily vapour containing oil and syngas. The tiny amount of oil condenses on the heat exchanger and is washed off every 15 minutes with water jets and detergent and flushed to sewer."
... Thats right , it flushes the oil it makes down the sewer !!!!! holy sh#t !!!
(i guess then the water company can collect it and sell it as fuel ? )
"A small amount of ash is leftover at the end of the process, which is also flushed to sewer "
I dont want to imagine the state of our sewers after a few years of everyone doing this.
Its a  syngas generator , you can build one yourself .

I remember a similar machine from a few years ago. A Japanese inventor demonstrates the machine in India. he pours in plastic bottle, packing etc and produces diesel oil.

Agree with all the above.

Forget plastic bottles and use glass, glass milk bottles were used ofer 100 times each and then they were crushed for cullet if they were damaged and unusable, the tops were foil and could be recycled.
Bottle banks do nothing for recycling as you drop bottles and they smash, simply return them and get a credit against your spend where anything from pop bottles to jam jars which are returned intact.

Or do what we do, we clean them and make our own jams, chutneys, and bottle a lot of the produce we grow.

Paper bags, a good idea, shred them and throw them into a large bin, add the same amount of wood shavings or sawdust and half the amount of dung, and add water, mix with a paddle and leave for several days until it breaks down, drain the water and put into a mould and compress with a hydraulic jack and an instant fuel puck, dry and use on your log burner. No gas or electricity required to heat your home and you can turn tons of this stuff into fuel.

Old cooking oils? transeresterification! my tractor runs on a 50;50 mix of diesel and transesterficated veg oil.

Food waste, compost it, we buy very little compost in our village yet we use tons of the stuff every year, only this afternoon I dug a lot into some of our beds and even had blackbird fledgelings with me while I did it, the circle of life in its true form. Old timber, weed roots, and general garden waste can be burned to produce instant potash for your garden.

Why don't they encourage more of this? because there are too many people making too much money from producing new items for profit.
