Skills Sharing

Post by assassin on Sat Feb 25, 2017 7:38 pm

I am proposing a series of skills sharing sessions for members, please bear in mind this is only a proposal and would involve members getting together and learning new skills for themselves which they can pass on to friends and other like minded people.

How would it work:

If I can use Landlubber as an example;

LL has many useful skills and one of them is foraging, people could meet up and have a day or part day out with him foraging for food and he could pass on his clearly obvious skills in foraging for wild food to others; he is located in a very nice part of the country and has a host of wild food on his doorstep and a combination of his obvious foraging skills and masses of available wild food may make a nice day out for a small group of people where they could learn what to pick while enjoying some excellent scenery.

While this may be one example the same principle can be applied to many things, perhaps someone is good at woodwork or metalwork and teach some basic wood or metalworking shills to others, perhaps someone may be good at basic electronics and teach others how to make LED lighting, perhaps someone is good with cars and can teach others basic servicing skills. The list is endless.

I have put the idea out there so what do people think.

Great idea assassin, could be very useful especially when the membership grows .Personally i dont travel much farther north than Nottingham . Maybe because according to the map " there be dragons" .
However last Sunday some of our group went to a raw food demo given by Urchinatheart .Well worth the experience & exactly what you are advocating .
