High dose Vitamin C

Vitamin C is largely involved in cell,tissue (of all types) and bone regeneration . It has great anti ageing properties in high doses . It is also protective against cancer cells and dead/diseased cells in the body.
The problem is that therapeutic levels can be much higher than can be obtained with diet alone, even taking ascorbic acid supplements some people can not reach the highest levels in the body (5 to 10 grams per day and beyond) because of the "flush effect" but there are alternative forms of vitamin C which can help negate these side effects.
1. to neutralise the ascorbic acid with mineral carbonates in water (such as magnesium carbonate,calcium carbonate,)which react to make co2 and a mineral ascorbate.
I have been taking 10g Vit C as mineral ascorbates in water for 4 weeks plus a week to build up from 5g daily to 10g daily for the first week. I have experienced what they call "the vitamin C flush" a couple of times in the beginning but now i am able to take in 10g without the "flush" .
It took a while before I began to notice any improvements but after about 3 to 4 weeks I can say there has been alot of improvements , my skin looks 5 years younger (family members agree!!!). My eye sight has improved slightly and I am also sleeping much more regularly and feeling generally less fatigued.

2. Curcumin has shown to increase levels of vitamin c presence in body fluids so may be an idea to take curcumin with piperine supplement alongside vit c therapy ! I do take these regularly also hard to find a consistent suppler so i order in bulk from here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323358263235 which is an Indian supply and works very noticeably with the boswellia and piperine!

3. Is to use a liposomal vitamin C which is vitamin C encapsulated inside a tiny bubble of oil (sunflower lecithin), which is very expensive to buy if you are interested in very high or mega dose of vitamin C. However there is a method to make your own which i will be able to try out soon and will get back to you when i have evaluated it!

CONCLUSION: In this long-term prospective Chinese cohort study, higher plasma vitamin C concentration was associated with lower total mortality, heart disease mortality and cancer mortality. Our results corroborate the importance of adequate vitamin C to human health.

I take vit c in the form of dried rosehips which i make myself.In fact i
intend to forage more today if the weather holds.

how many dried rose hips would you need to consume to ingest 10g of vitC? I would guess its not practical.
100g dried rose hips yields approx 41 mg vit C (0.041g)
so you would need 250 x 100g !

Yea i saw the show and looked at his prices!!! fek that no wonder he looked a bit red in the face  (£59.99 for what i bought off ebay for £28!!! )

And when you consider the link i gave at £28 is already alot for what it is , you could buy some calcium carbonate,potassium carbonate,magnesium carbonate and ascorbic acid separately and mix it yourself and save probably half the money again!

You could even use sodium carbonate (baking powder) in the mix or indeed on its own but there is the salt content to worry about with very high dose.

hey lops, when you take the 5mg of vit-c is it in the one go, (once a day)
can it be added with bicarb?.

I couldnt take even 2g of neat ascorbic acid at once thats why i started on the buffered vitc powder.
With that i could take 5g at once with no troubles.
Pour out a bit of water 10/20 ml in a half pint glass, then add 1 heaped teaspoon of buffered powder wait till all fizzing has stopped then top the glass up, drink it slowly over 10 - 20 mins.
The next day i upped to 6g ,ect,until by the end of the week i was on 10g.
If on any day you get the flush, stick to that same level the next day , if you dont flush the next day then go on to increase the dose.(and the glass to a pint!!)

i used to get british suppliments curcumin but it was different colour every time, they dont have a single source. Thats why i got the stuff from india from the source!!!(its not so expensive if you buy bulk)

My plan to try liposomal has been delayed due to faulty sonic bath :/

Im eager to try the liposomal diy method because drinking 1 pint of buffered ascorbic acid everyday is geting to be a chore in itself.I need a break it has been 7 weeks almost every day although the benefits have been well worth it so far.I have noticed the anti ageing/regenerative properties as i am of the age where these signs start to happen (scary!) and it seems to have knocked a few years off!
I spent most of yesterday evening and today making my first crude batch of liposomal .
there are a few different recipes on the net so i read some and came up with an averaged method for a basic Ascorbic acid (non buffered) liposomal.
1/ 1 large spoon ascorbic acid crystals (approx 18g) dissolved in about 120ml distilled water
2/ 2 large spoons sunflower lecithin added to 25ml distilled water , heated and stirred until all the powder was incorporated into a homogenous mix (slowly heated to 71deg C)
3/ add the dissolved ascorbic acid to the warm lecithin and continue to mix , this brought the temp of the mix down to about 45 deg c
4/ Once well mixed place it in an ultrasonic bath and sonicate for 10 minute intervals checking the temp (this warms the solution up)and if the temp goes over 40 deg c then put it in the fridge for 30 mins and repeat until 1 hour of sonicating is reached.
I haven't sorted my microscope up yet but i thought id guinea pig it anyway, so i ve had the equivalent dose of 6 grams of neat ascorbic acid.(mixed with some elderberry concentrated extract and water to make it palatable) 6g would usually make me hit bowel tolerance by quite a margin.
I will assess the situation tomorrow. lol. If it works it would be like having a 10-12g dose or more due to the extra availability through lipid absorption !

Dave Ive been looking into rosehips after your mention . Some use rosehip powder to make liposomal without with or without extra ascorbic acid.
Rosehips are a super food and have their own benefits , one of them may be to help the body absorb more vitamin C (so they are naturally buffered in a way so a fine suggestion !)
Someone else said they take high doses by using vitC with rosehip in capsules without any bad side effects too which i will also be trying out...

I've made over 1kg of powder, a teaspoon of powder mixed with a tsp pf
honey makes a plesant hot drink, that 1 tsp of powder ,i find will make 3 cups.
Not sure however if the hot water destroys the benifits. I also have powered a
lot of nettles ,also for tea or added to soups.

if it boils it will be damaging the vitc.
When making the liposomal vitc they say not to let it go over 40/50 ish, which is maybe over cautious but the process does take hours.

Just been to get some results from last nights ingestion. I can confirm no flush!

a cold extraction would be best for the vitC , if you have a slow cooker or something controllable you could do the mashing at 30/40 deg for half an hour or so , and make a cold drink out of it.
