More Corruption In Nottingham

It has been all over the news this morning that Nottinghamshire Police are to "tackle illegal parking" in the Queens Medical Centre which is Nottingham's main hospital, it is interesting to note that the QMC is the University Hospitals Trust and claims to own the land on which the QMC sits so why are the Police acting as enforcers on private land on which they have no jurisdiction as parking matters are a civil offence on private land and if they follow up on their threats of having vehicles removed they are complicit in THEFT.

It is even more interesting to note that parking enforcement within the city boundaries are the responsibilitiy of Nottingham City Council and not the Police, so why are the Police even entertaining the idea of parking enforcement and especially when the QMC is clearly within the city's boundaries.

First ticket they issue is then fraud, and with the evidence, from what I have seen a large number of Notts residents are clued up about it.

I am sorry but you are wrong in law. Ownership is irrelevant. What is relevant is whether or not the public have access to the land which, in this case, they do. The police do have the powers in this instance. Using the word "corruption" in your thread title is incorrect. The law does allow the police to act in this manner if the public have access to the road.

Totally incorrect Roger and proven by legal precedent, the trust have registered the land with land registry which makes it private land with the trust claiming ownership and if it is private land the police have no authority to act.
Many other hospitals have tried the same thing with everything from smoking to parking, in Nottingham they have publically admitted they have no right to act to act to prevent anyone smoking as it is in their words "private land" so at best the police contradict themselves.
