Really don't know where to go from here.

Hi all,
Any advice would be really appreciated.
I'm dealing with my brothers' debts and have been for a while now as he suffers with mental illness.

We have been with StepChange fora year, making a token payment plan of £1 to each creditor for a year.
This year is now up and the debt companies want a new income and expenditure report.

My brother is just getting back on his feet, and has just taken a job abroad - he has literally just started, so as of now, i can't provide an income and expenditure as we have no idea yet how much his rent will be and all other living expenses and i'm guessing we won't know this for at least another 6 weeks.

His creditors are Barclaycard, Westcott, Idem and Link financial.

The way i see it, my options are:
A. To set up a small payment plan for £10 a month to each creditor until i can figure out his income and outgoings.
B. I have a sum of money put away, probably totallying half of the total of his debt, and to make offers to the companies to make partially settled accounts.

I've considered entering into the 3 step process, but honestly, i'm not sure i can handle the stress of it, especially if it should end up in court.

Any guidance would be really appreciated. Thank you.

If his income / expenditure is at today's date uncertain, just repeat what was stated last year.

Have you made them aware of his mental illness?

Hi Tiggy, thanks for the reply.
Just spoke to Step Change who seemingly don't want to know anymore until we are able to provide a new income and expenditure. They will not continue the token payment plan. They have also advised me to call all the creditors and speak to them individually.
They are all fully aware of his mental illness, which is why i am able to talk on his behalf.

Just send them a letter saying his circumstances haven't changed.
