Interesting,

Just checked Hitchin Police. results = company no 4518519
company age 4 years
status active
non-limited business

everything else comes up n/a or 0

On these results ,i think it would be a good idea if we all checked our local plod,and decide on a number of questions & all submit a F.O.I. Request . It can be done by email ,so no cost involved.

Good find Mark. I have a lot of dealings with CompanyCheck and as regards to the number associated with the police force or council you are looking at, Companycheck generate this number for their own purposes. So no good listing this number in any communication with whoever you do an FOI request. All these listed councils and forces are down as non-limited businesses and that is where the buck stops. Try finding background info on non-limited businesses and you will hit a brick wall very fast. I did find out that CompanyCheck ring a third party to gather information periodically for each company but they will not say who the third party is. Find the answer to non-limited businesses and I for one would move a step closer to each force and council history of moving their businesses from one addres to another and slighty changing the name every few years or decades. Perhaps a new thread dedicated to exposing and learning about non-limited businesses would be a good idea.
