Hi goodf folks,

Well I've been hiding in my foxhole and repelling all borders playing letter ping pong and something has happened, shock, horror and amazement !!!!!

I received a letter at Christmas from robbers way (typical debt collector timing) informing me that the account has been marked unenforceable, they won't be pursuing any legal action, they have informed the client to remove any reporting on my credit file and I won't be receiving any collection letters or calls asking me to pay ...... BUT ...... the account still remains outstanding and the account will be held for 14 days after which collection activity will resume !!

I sent a letter to robbers way asking them to explain in full and precise detail how they intended to resume collection activities on an unenforceable account and without sending me collection letters ?

Their reply was that the account will no longer be managed by their office and any payments and correspondence should be sent directly to the client.

Call me cynical but that wasn't a direct - we've closed the account - so I'll wait to see if any other letters turn up.

Meanwhile I'll relax a tiny bit after my 4.5 years of aggro and hope it becomes statute barred before any other smart arse sends me another begging letter.
