Greetings to all members, newly signed up here but was a member back in the day of the original GOODF. Glad to be here.
I would welcome any insight/advice/help/assistance with appreciation and gratitude.

In summary I drive a company owned van, this was allegedly doing 39mph in a 30 zone back in late October 2018, according to one of those fixed roadside yellow headed mugging machines. It took until March 2019 for my manager at work to hand me a notice about this sent by the local constabulary requesting driver identification. As it is a company van and my job I filled the form identifying myself as the driver. Apparently due to the time transpired since the alleged speeding offence a speed awareness course could not be offered. Fast forward to recently and I have a 'Single Justice Procedure Notice' to be filled in and completed, can be done online too. 21 days to either plead guilty or not guilty. There is a witness statement from somebody alleging to have studied the content of the camera and verifying that a speeding offence was commited. What are my options here. Am I to take at face value the accuracy and authenticity of the witness statement. I would like to know if the camera has been correctly maintained and calibrated and adheres to any relevant requirements. Time is very short and I know I could just plead guilty or not guilty. How can one plead whilst feeling satisfied that there is clear and compelling evidence to able to plead either way? Simply either take it on good faith and accept the shafting or at least challenge. I am confused and unsure and would really value some guidance. Thank you for taking the time to read. With deep gratitude. I do not want to compromise my employment with the company but equally want to know if I am justified to question that which is presented as categorical so called fact.

please be careful & thoroughly research before doing anything, but this may help with the 6 month limit, not too sure though:

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1980/43/section/127

The Magistrates Court Act 1980:
127 Limitation of Time

(1) Except as otherwise expressly provided by any enactment and subject to subsection (2) below, a magistrates' court shall not try an information or hear a complaint unless the information was laid, or the complaint made, within 6 months from the time when the offence was committed, or the matter of complaint arose

it may be if the 6 months has passed they use scare tactics to get you to pay & fess up. If the 6months have really passsed (legally) they are SUNK & can't do owt - please becareful though. Alternativly watch this & make a conditional  offer of acceptance. is their paper work signed (for their liability & legal standing?)

this is the main one! - 40 mins long

also please read these in depth, this subject has been covered many times before.
