None paid CCJ
Hi,
Could someone advise from experience or 1st hand knowledge do CCJ(s) have to be paid? From what I know if a CCJ is on a credit reference somewhere even if paid off it can still be on there as a possible bad mark for 6 or 7 years. If NOT paid off irrespective of what the CCJ is for, does not paying off a CCJ mean anything? Or what can happen?

Re: None paid CCJ
No, a CCJ doesn't have to be paid and in theory it remains on your file for a pre determined time when it is automatically removed, well that's the theory.
In reality they use this information to downgrade your credit rating to make you a bad risk and individual corporations use this information against you for many years after the timed expiry date, even though a CCJ is removed from the official register, they term this personal data and technically they shouldn't have it but do.
If your credit rating is downgraded they have to have a reason and this reason is usually in the form of a code, it is well knoiwn that certain codings should, and do have a certain meaning to keep them legitimate looking, but in reality it is well known that they are interpreted in a different way.

I believe its not entered on your credit file until 3 months after judgement if still unpaid.
If you do not own your home its a piece of cake ,Even if you do ,if its a relatively small amount it easy.

Phillpots, how did you get rid of them if you don't mind my asking? I've got one for a parking ticket and thought there was no option other than waiting the six years
