Water company. Help please. Ask for a 'proper' bill? Is that from a named person with their wet-ink signature? What should it look like?

Hi NTMB

Doesn't really matter what it looks like - you'll never see one! The point of asking for it is that the request is impossible to fulfil. It's a question of Conditional Acceptance. Watch some Troy vids on ceylon's yt channel - very informative.

Cheers!

Wrong argument, their is a statement of account and an instrument usually that facilitates payment, this can be used in a number of ways, including a negotiable settlement, that is another subject which is too vast to explain here and requires absolute competence in many other things, in terms of AFV and set off, inter alia you need to prove the utility agent has the primary accounts and is a first generation holder.

If you are going down the whole where is the man who said I didn't pay route, that is actually equity and trust law.

Until you know what your doing, if your hard up, then pay on the drip.

Using RTS will not work for that long and once they identify you, you will end up with a CCJ, not wise.

You cannot use conditional acceptance, that is insane, conditional acceptance of what ? you have received the benefits of the service, what is their to argue about in terms of contract and consideration, nothing - fast track route to a CCJ and all that can escalate from it.

Better to limit the damage in the short term than allow it to become greater, which is what will happen if you think you can win using those techniques.

Your choice though.

Hi Ferry Man

You are correct, it is not the best method to deal with the situation. i offered a piece of info pertinent to the OP's question and then directed him to someone who advises A4V as best course of action re: CT.

i disagree though that it would be insane to consider CA as a method. And some seem to do alright with RTS (imo. i've yet to try it).

The reason i think it a valid technique (in theory) is that we have the right to challenge their claim of right to payment. If they have a valid claim then they can issue a true bill. Ergo CA - please send me a true bill and i will pay you. It's a stalemate technique to keep the account in dispute, and (theoretically) unresolvable. i'm sure it's a bit more complex than that in its totality, but am i wrong in concept? If so i've got some re-thinking to do..... and would appreciate a pointer, thanks.

Cheers!
