OMG  I'm not saying its correct - even things sometimes put out on the net are wrong, it does refer to commercial install, but read this:
https://perfect-clarity.com/gas-meter-installation-for-commercial-premises/

Last step – Arrange a gas supply contract and meter installation

Presuming the GT1 survey confirms the gas supply is live and suitable for your needs, we can arrange a contract and installation.

Energy companies will require a gas contract to be signed before they install a gas meter at your site (otherwise you would be able to use gas for free).

Energy contracts are our bread and butter, we arrange these all day, every day for businesses. We work with around 25 energy companies in the commercial sector, including all the main suppliers like British Gas, EON, EDF etc. There are many others too.

A lot of energy companies only have a licence for commercial gas supply and don’t wish to get involved in the domestic market. This means we are checking prices from a range of suppliers you may not be familiar with.

I think the forum software gets confused by the format of that URL and doesn't make it a proper link you can click. LS's workaround does the trick.

The original screenshot is from the page that LS linked and quoted in the second post. I assume all the info there is correct, i was not aware that a commercial gas supply needs a signed agreement (unlike domestic) but that might well be the case.

So as far as I can see the answer to "Is gas free?" is for practical purposes "no". The theoretical exception might be for a new connection or reconnection to business premises, and only if you found a supplier who would install and connect the meter without you entering into a supply agreement with them.

nod to FF regarding the workaround.

if this link is followed:
https://goodf.forumotion.com/t6028-future-of-where-no-contract-is-said-to-exist#40820

the 1st post in this thread I think may counter some argument or POV on what FF states above. In this the 'customer' actually Beniciary, got into a contract with a 'micro supplier' & refused to tell the main 'supplier' details of what was going on because of contract law. An interesting read certainly?

on a different note if you have access to telegram the following is something if true I didn't know & worth investigating for all?

https://t.me/unburdenyourselfchat/29712

https://t.me/unburdenyourselfchat/29715

I can view both these links without telegram in a browser, worth a look at least.

Granted there is in 'legislation' wording to suggest 'deemed contracts'. However as per the information coming from 'peacekeepers' (c'tax) on the Act of Settlement 1700, all are equal under the Law so therefore no one is above Law?

Therefore who honestly has the right to force contracts/agreements?

In holding Title, we are supposed to 'pay' down the 'public debt', but the way things are working we are literally being held to ransom.

Exemption accounting IMO does work, its just gets ignored or they are double dipping? So what if my so called Title is on some paperwork allied to an address of.... where they can attach thier fictional debt?

I don't care after researching this subject for many years & gaining experience, if they want to 'play' in thier world of paper & ink fiction? Let them do it, just don't bother me for 'payment' or anything else because there is NO debt (GBP -'£' is a promise to pay).

This is an inversion of what the BOE Act 1882 is IMO really about.

We are given a token or voucher or money order or call it what you like to discharge said aledged debt.

They should accept it & be done - finished.
