The road transport industry could,if it wished defeat the congestion & emission charges within a day if it wished.

Despite the Mayor & politicians thinking London is the center of the universe ,it is totally dependent on the rest of the country.
At the very least all businesses doing work in London should state in quotations 'prices subject to London transport charges ' & be included on invoices as a separate item the same as VAT.

Of course that will never happen !

Think about it for a while, we currently have the City of London which is its own little country within the UK in which even the Queen has to stop at the gate or bar to get permission to enter, and think about how long it has been there, and how many people actually live/reside within the City of London. Basically it has outgrown itself and they need more space and to get more space then why not just take over the whole of London instead and expand outwards and to do this they need to move people "en masse" to get this additional space and they are running their agenda to do just that. Look at the East End of London, overrun with immigrants and most of the original Eastenders have now moved out to Essex and this is the first phase, get rid of the people whose first language is English by speaking so many different languages in schools and move those out as they are the most likely to oppose any such future plans.

Now look at the big corporations and banks which have their headquarters in the City, they cannot accommodate those already there so they ned more space to accommodate even more and the quickest way to do this is through redevelopment because they can compulsory purchase land and evict those from living accommodation and turn it into huge corporate headquarters with much larger spaces to accommodate their cars.

This is all part of a much larger plan.
