Marbles (New Day) and fraudulent transactions Empty Marbles (New Day) and fraudulent transactions

Post by anonymousHudd Wed Jul 04, 2018 10:48 am

Ok so i have a cresit card with Marbles and i noticed that some transactions on my statement were not mine, i immediately contacted them and let them know. The transactions were in the U.S when i was in the UK (and could prove so), i was told that they would send out some forms for me to complete and return stating that the transactions were not mine. I never received them so i rang them again about a week later and let them know, they said they would send them out again for me. I received them, completed and returned which they then said they had not received, so again the process was repeated and i completed and sent. I then went to work in Iraq for 8 months, when i returned i went through some mail and i saw that although my account was zeroed as i paid the balance whilst i was away, but i also noticed that there was no credit from them for the unauthorized transactions that i had told them about. I contacted customer services and they said that due to the time frame (more than 6 months) then this could not be dealt with in the usual manner, it would go to an internal ombudsman. After two weeks they wrote to em and said that as the time limit had expired they could do nothing and could not refund the monies. When i contacted them they also said that they had sent a letter to me which was apparently returned as me no longer living at that address (which i was, and my wife opened the mail and told me of anything i needed to know) so they had blocked and cancelled the card. At this point i said well how come when i rang you only a few days ago to ask why i could draw out any funds i was told that there was something on the card which had now been removed, and she could not answer this. Now im sorry but im fuming on this, why could they not contact me via the phone or email to say they had not received my paperwork (as they had both as i had my bills electronically)and now they refuse to credit the unauthorized transactions. Please can anyone help me fight this as it is not right, they did say i could go to the Ombudsman but we all know that they are not independent and side with the banks etc.

hi anonymoushudd, put your case to the ombudsman, they could sort it out.
You could also try a complaint for time wasting if you think that has happened.
