Re: Masks
Yes I saw some for sale marked as "Not to be used as PPE or for medical purposes". And on the back of the packet "This product is designed for general use and not intended for personal protective equipment (PPE)". At least it says it's "Breathable".
Not quite sure what "general use" of a face mask is. As a fashion accessory maybe?

Re: Masks
When you wear a dust mask for example, you get the two main types which are the basic loop around the ears types and the loop around the head type and basic dust masks loop around the head and have a metal strap to fit around the nose yourself, but why? because they have to protect from dust and the loop around the ear types have a large gap between the nose and cheek which the fit around the nose straps close up.
Think a little harder and the agenda emerges, if you are wearing one in public then this gives the Lice more opportunities to stop you and claim "we couldn't see his/her face" and then continue with their demands for your personal details.

A New Jersey driver crashed head-on into a pole — after passing out from wearing an N95 mask for hours, police said Friday.

Re: Masks
Interesting question
If shop staff are not obliged to wear the face covering, if a shop keeper decides not to enforce the guideline will they incur any sanction?

No, they cannot stop you shopping and by preventing you undertaking basic necessary tasks is covered by UK, EU, and international Human Rights legislation so if anyone brings such a case then it is very likely to succeed and the shopkeeper will likely be boycotted by many shoppers.

Re: Masks
Walking around the town centre this morning (JUST a walk, no interest in shopping at the best of times, let alone with all the BS one way systems and restrictions) and the number of imbeciles walking around with loop around the ear masks, fiddling with them, taking them off, putting them back on again.
Makes me so glad I am a CRITICAL thinker. And this comes from an asthmatic. Not once have I worn a mask and I do not wash my hands when I return from a supermarket or simply anytime I walk back through my front door. I have ‘suffered’ a couple of colds since (or some sort of virus - NOT COVID-19) so I’m glad my immune system is still being kept active AS NATURE INTENDED.
You’ll have to put a gun to my head to make me wear a mask. I am FULLY capable of being hygienic, sneezing into tissues etc. You know, the COMMON SENSE things most half educated human beings execute on a daily basis...

You'll probably find farmers have some of the best immune systems Mr Blue, as they are always caked in sh*t, stating the obvious the immune system needs some bacteria to keep it healthy to keep you healthy, constant handwashing is bad.
I swallowed some mud the other day whilst licking soup of my fingers....as a kid I did actually eat mud when we made mud pies....did me no harm!

If a citizen believes they have suffered discrimination, they can apply to the County Courts to complain of unlawful discrimination and to seek damages and compensation, including for injury to feelings.

Correct kestrel, already dealing with a parking ticket issue and the council wont back down despite clearly breaking their own parking policies which states they must log the vehicle registration on their hand held device and wait 5 minutes, it also has a code which you can look up in their policies and this equates to more or less than 5 minutes and this is more, so he should have logged the registration, walked away and returned AFTER 5 minutes, did he buggery.
On the ticket there is no time logged which proved he breached the council policy, the policy they wrote, then they claim he issued the ticket legally????? now we have section 2 Fraud Act 2006, Fraud by false representation and disability discrimination, but it gets better as at the same time they were caught on video illegally issuing tickets and the local paper printed stills from the video.
This is down to one individual and the council condone and protect this individual, despite countless complaints, because he is their best revenue collector.

I was only asking as I was asking a corner shop owner near me that question.
I put a shopping basket over my head for a laugh and he thought it was hilarious.
I got the distinct impression that he didn't really care and would not be enforcing it.
This is part of an article regarding shopkeepers attitudes the the face nappy
The village convenience store
“The word ‘mandatory’ is meaningless,” says 70-year-old Redmond Hanlon, who has owned his village convenience store in Devon for 35 years. “I’m not going to refuse entry to mask-free customers. I’ve got 80-year-old guys coming in first thing in the morning for newspapers. I’m not going to say, no, you can’t have your paper. These are guys I’ve known for years.”
Hanlon says most customers do not wear face coverings, but he has been handing out free masks to customers who want them. Last week, he installed a pedal-controlled hand-sanitiser dispenser at the shop entrance and a screen over the counter.
“I think government instruction might make a difference [to how many people wear face coverings]. I’m going to put up a sign thanking customers for wearing masks tomorrow, but I won’t do more,” Hanlon says. “My view is that it’s up to people how they get on with each other. By and large I like to let people do their own thing.”

jss64 I was not in any way being facetious, I could see you were only asking so please do not take offense. The not so obvious to most that is happening, but those especially who come here know differently.
I do think though if the overall message about masks could be got out into the main public arena then perhaps more people would become aware & through perhaps a change in public attitude towards the CV19 BS far more would say NO!

Unless they change it this is Tesco's policy on masks. I suspect many will be the same
I however will never shop at Tesco as they stock Israeli products.

Much appreciated for your medical, legal and store policy contributions. It seems we, as all other life-forms, require unhindered respiration to live in health. If the wearing of masks is to protect 'Public Health', who or what is/are the Public ? Not air breathers perhaps ?

If you have anxiety about mask wearing causing Hypoxia and or Hypercapnia
that counts as a disability . Check out the Equality Act 2010 and https://www.gov.uk/rights-disabled-person and https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/570382/Equality_Act_2010-disability_definition.pdf

I have printed cards that say
I have a health / disability
condition and therefore
Exempt from wearing a
face covering
You can self certify for this, and shops are not allowed to ask about any disability.
