If forced to wear masks
If the wearing of masks becomes mandatory what can you do ?
Last night I picked up on a comment made in the chat on the Webster Report.
Please do a search on Hypercapnia. I would then suggest you compose
a note or letter ,keep it with you, along the lines of:
1. Are you informing me that I am lawfully obligated to wear a mask or any
device which covers my nose and or mouth ?
2. Are you aware of the medical conditions known as Hypercapnia & Hypoxia
3. Are you aware that Hypercapnia & Hypoxia can be fatal ?
4. I have now made you aware of the possible consequencies of your demand.
As such do you take personal liability for your demands ?
5. Are you aware that by enforcing your demand that I wear a face covering
of any kind that you become along with your employer or whosoever instructed
you to enforce such an order ,jointly and severally liable for any and all effects
I may suffer ?
Of course shops etc have the right to refuse entry. Public transport however
may be different as many routes are publicly subsidised giving you the right of
travel. ( maybe a good idea to request from your local council a list of which
routes receive a subsidy.)

Re: If forced to wear masks
This is a copy of a FOI request sent to local council ,its all you need.
Good morning ,
Please accept this as a Freedom of Information request.
Please supply a list of Public Transport routes along with the names of the operating companies who receive a subsidy from public funds for operations in the North Hertfordshire area.
Please note I am not requesting amounts ,just a list of the above.
If this is something that is operated by Herts CC and not yourselves ,it would be appreciated if you could inform me asap.
Many thanks;

Re: If forced to wear masks
As an addition to my original post.
On a related issue of masks and public transport. Given the evidence of masks
causing various effects due to oxygen depravation .I find it disturbing that not
only passengers are required to wear them ,but even more disturbed by drivers
wearing them. From my own observations I would estimate 90% of drivers are
wearing them. From my bus driving days (over 40 years ago) we had one model
of a single decker bus where you could legally carry 73 passengers, presumably
its pretty much the same tioday.
So what we have potentially is a driver operating a vehicle where there is a possibility
he could become disorientated or even pass out with dozens of passengers on board.
Of course it does not stop there, what about the mechanics who work on the vehicles?
By there very nature some parts are heavy and can take exertion to handle & fit.
If the mechanic is wearing a mask can his judgement be impaired even by a small
amount ? I would suggest its a possibility. Of course all this applies just as much to
trains and trams.
For those who read my post in this thread about the FOI request ,it transpires it
should have gone to the county council & not the local council, which has now
happened. Once I get the answers to which operators and routes are receiving
public funds I will be requiring answers from them on this subject.
Over this weekend I will start to put together a letter/questionare for them, any
and all input for one would be great.
There is a lot a of talking and discussion here ,I would like to see much more
positive action from members .Remember if we dont start to push back hard ,our
children and future generations will face a living hell.

Re: If forced to wear masks
Ok this is what I have so far.
If your corporation receives public funds ,or if you are operating a Public Service. please be kind enough to provide answers to the following questions.
1. Have your drivers been instructed to wear face masks which cover both the mouth
and nose. If yes are these instructions mandatory or voluntary ?
2. Have your mechanics and those responsible for the safe operation of your vehicles
been instructed to wear said masks ? If yes were these instructions mandatory or
voluntary ?
3. If these instructions came to you from a government department please supply the
following answers (a) are these instructions Law? ,if so please state the Law,or are
these instructions for guidance only? (b) Please provide the name of the man/woman
who gave you those instructions.
4. Are you aware that the wearing of these face masks can and does lower the oxygen
intake into the body along with the increase of carbon dioxide intake ?
5. Are you aware of the health effects raised in question 4 and are you aware of the conditions known as Hypoxia and Hypercapnia and the effects upon the body along
with other conditions associated with oxygen depravation?
6. You have now been NOTICED of the effects that face mask wearing can cause
and the safety implications involved.Should you intend to continue to adopt a face mask wearing policy I will require from you the name of whoever within your corporation
takes personal liability for these instructions. I will also require the name of your
insurers along with their confirmation that they will indemnify you against any and
all claims arising from any accident or injury involving mask wearing passengers or staff.
as usual edits /additions etc welcome

Dave, don't forget that all modern buses are air conditioned and use recirculated air, this means for every recirculation only a small percentage of fresh air is introduced, so whatever someone has will be recirculated around the bus several times.

Re: If forced to wear masks
I slipped up with that letter. I was intending to wait for the results of my
FOI before sending. I have now amended the first word from As to If.
So now it can just be sent without waiting.
Please,as many of you as possible ,either send your own version or use mine
as a template,to every public transport operator in your area.
Do it by email and it will only take a moment of your time. Please post
replies here.

Re: If forced to wear masks
Someone has put this together i.e. liability notice with regards to masks, aimed at employers but clearly worthy of anyone including public transport or any idiot shops.

Thanks Lionshare, i don't do twitter & unsure how to copy some items as you have.
More info here from our glorious government:
Coronavirus (COVID-19): safer travel guidance for passengers
Exemptions - people who do not have to wear a face covering
The requirement to wear a face covering does not apply to:
You also do not need to wear a face covering if you have a good reason not to. This includes:
if you have a physical or mental illness or impairment, or a disability that means you cannot put on, wear or remove a face covering
if putting on, wearing or removing a face covering would cause you severe distress
if you are travelling with, or providing assistance to, someone who relies on lip reading to communicate
if you are travelling to avoid injury or escape the risk of harm, and you do not have a face covering with you
if you need to remove it during your journey to avoid harm or injury or the risk of harm or injury to yourself or others
if you need to eat, drink, or take medication you can remove your face covering
if you are asked to remove your face covering by a police officer or other official, for example to check your railcard

I use a handy utility called "Lightshot". This takes over the print screen key, and when pressed it let's you select the area you want to capture, and allows some basic editing before saving, like adding text or markup.

ctrl + prnt screen does that, instead of capturing the whole screen you can select individual application windows / tabs
