Debt Empty Debt

Post by brownowl Fri Nov 11, 2022 8:02 am

I have an alleged credit card debt with the OC. I would like to wait until it gets given to a DCA rather than dealing with the OC. How do I get this handed over to a DCA. Is it a case of waiting a few months and missing the payments?

Many thanks

Just to be clear. You have a cc that is in arrears but you are still making
payments?

Personally i think you should handle this with the OC. They are the ones
claiming you have a debt.and it will show that from the outset you have
tried to address the matter honourably.

Start with a DSAR (to see what they have (or dont have)
You can then start with the notices.

I have a small one that i deliberatly stopped paying 2 years ago in order
that i could tweek the notices to make improvments .Its still with the OC
and so far i have seem off 3 DCs & 1 solicitor.
Since i did the notices over a year ago correspondance has dropped to almost
nothing. And of course nothing at all from the CEO & Head of Collections to
whom the notices were sent.

I have a CC in arrears, I have not been paying it for 2 months.

I've heard it said that it is easier to deal with the DCA?

Are you getting confused between a debt Collector and a Debt Purchaser ?
Debt collectors are easy (only acting for OC. Debt Purchasers can be easier
as they will not have as much info as OC ,but still be persistent as they have paid
money for it ,but it may never get sold on .Thats one reason to deal with
the OC.

Yes I think I was getting confused.

I just wanted to deal with anyone other than the OC as I heard they were easier because the alleged debt was never with them? but perhaps I am wrong. I've never had an alleged debt go to a DCA or a DP so I don't know how it ends up there. I will send the OC a DSAR as that is probably the best way to go?

Evening,

The CEO of the OC is in New York City, however, the bank that is behind the specific credit card has offices in UK and their CEO is in those offices?

I thought to address to both, but at the UK offices?

I would suggest you look on companies house and find who holds the senior
position in the uk or alternativly send to the CEO c/o the UK address.
I would guess all your correspondence has come from the UK anyway

I have an alleged debt with a CC. I submitted my DSAR and received thus:

"Thank you for your right to access request.

Hopefully, we have the information we need to review your request. If we need anything else, we may call you in the next few days."

Hopefully! They don't have any of my information more like!
