Chinese diesel heaters

With the price of gas now being extorted from us i have moved to an alternative
for heating via a diesel heater, All the info you could posibily want can be found
on YouTube .
These can be run on pretty much any oil .
Whilst they are designed for motorhomes, trucks etc ,i have found i can heat
my 3 bedroom house with no problems ,i just close the living room door until
the temp reaches about 20c and then open the door and the rest of the house
slowly heats without the temp dropping.
I heated the house for about £20 last week and that is useing road diesel,
i am looking for a source for kerosine and other alteratives that are cheaper.

Things to watch out for are methods of powering the heaters ,whilst they do
not draw much power there are 2 ways to supply it ; either get a 240-12v
transformer (about £20) or use a car battery.
The important thing to bear in mind is power cuts . If you use the transformer
option a major problem arises as the heater must perform its shut down
procedure failure to do this can result in burning out the electronics.
that is why i have chosen the battery option with a trickle charger.
No fumes as the burn chamber is seperate from the supplied hot air.
I have seen videos of people using the exhaust heat to run a radiator
thus capturing the valuable heat,and the same guy this week used the
exhaust to make a fry up.

Well worth considering taking a look at these ,at the very least it gives
a degree of independance for heat.

The realities are somewhat different Dave and the first issue is that of correct installation and that they need installing lower down if possible or duct the air downwards towards the floor as heat rises so use it to your advantage.

Round here they use twin tanks and have heating oil in one tank and diesel in the other and while they run on the much cheaper heating oil they do need the burner running at full heat for 30 minutes periodically to clean residue from the burner from using other oils, I have also seen them run on transesterified veg oil and they run well.

WE made our own silencers and once installed they took cold air and warmed it up and the heat was utilised to heat the house.

Most round here run on batteries with a battery maintainer/trickle charger and have 2 batteries so they cn swap over if necessary.

Yes i've got mine low down, A few years ago they refaced these properties
with an additional brick facia ,making the thickness of the walls 400mm.
fortunatly there is a redundant air brick ,so i only needed to diamond drill
the thickness of 1 brick ,so the outlet is 150mm afl.
I drilled a 90mm hole and sleeved it with a 90mm ali tube (outlet pipe 80mm)
