Re: What the health!!
again references the unfathomable scale , did you know they only found one substance that they can say probably isnot carcinogenic ? an 18% rise of nothing is still nothing , check the actual figures of total meat eaters vs the total amount of cancer cases and find the real risk. beware these statistical evidences, they are never fully explained and use ambiguous charts that are pretty useless in ascertaining the actual risk .These shockumentorys are just that, dietary fear porn.
if the incidence is 0.001% and increase by 18% is a shocking 0.00118%, if you dont know the figure and only how much it increases you are non the wiser!
why dont they just say what the actual chance is ?

Re: What the health!!
Ok their reasonable points. And yes crazy figures are thrown around at times in some shockumentaries.
I really like the documentary and how it's presented, the figures stats and data kip uses. Yes there are many other carcinogens out there, in this day and age we cannot deny the fact that the true data as Kip said is hidden from us, that the meat industry is one of the leading causes of many diesease as well as the most damaging ondudtry on our environment. It's throught with corruption through its sponsorships by the very people who are supposed to be there to help and protect us.
If people choose to stay asleep to the personal health risks involved in our societies incessant exposure to the animal ag industry in all its forms that's up to them. I can only here speak from my own experience. I know I'm not the only one who can speak this experience....
By ruling meat and dairy out of 90% of my diet I have had a large number of dramatic health improvements. There is no question from my own experience the importance of the life saving work Kip is getting out to the general population, it's made huge differences for me, it would be a shame if others who were in need of life changing effects to not take this stuff seriously or even look at the principles of the bigger picture because of the deliberate confusion about statistical data. Today we cannot deny the fact that animal agriculture is the most detrimental industry to our health and to the health of Mother Earth and the life it supports. Regardless if people like meat or not, or even choose to live in denial about the health risks it poses, we should be looking at the industry as a whole, as made very clear in the shockumentary, corrupt corporations, corrupt politicians, governments, corrupt associations the very ones put into place to help those who are in need, the emended scale of damage it causes to nature, our environments..... there should be enough reasons there for people to take a step back and think about how they consume food. Nothing aimed personally at anyone here it's just something I'm passionate about

Re: What the health!!
I agree with much of what you say there Waffle.
It is just the data source's that is the problem. One day diesel is good the next bad, smoking, drinking the list is pretty long and unfortunately many (there has to be some valid data sets out there, are we getting to see them though?) of the data sources are based on junk science for profit or agenda or both. About half the items I read or watch get thrown in the junk bin due to the information contained being based on junk science, misunderstandings, click bait, intentional deceit, unintentional deceit parroting etc.
There was a piece on the tv the other day about people with mental health conditions getting outdoors and basically doing the councils job. It was presented that a survey was taken and some 85% ish said they felt better after doing this outdoor work. The work-gang leader was then spoken too and, all of a sudden this was being pushed as irrefutable scientific proof that getting more people with mental health conditions outdoors would be good for them. So it went from a survey (which would probably have been skewed as no doubt lots of little gifts would have been given to the initial pioneers) too irrefutable capture all scientific proof.
I agree with you on the health risks but, I feel it is fairly clear. If someone eats processed food all of the time then they should not be surprised if their health suffers.
The oldest people I know, or have known, have all done the drinking, smoking and eating meat which, by some of todays junk science/think-tank/steering committee/public private partnership/stakeholders standards would have been considered bad/excessive. They just believe/believed in moderation, which aside from the additional junk that is pumped into food for a good few years it seemed/seems to work quite well.
This new age diet industry is big, big money whilst also supporting a bigger agenda which has been discussed before. I believe there is some info about it in the NHS thread we worked on awhile back. It wont be long before those 'healthy' zones around healthy new towns, schools, parks, playgrounds, doctors, hospitals, gov buildings etc starts getting rolled out and will no doubt overlap much of the country. Ceylon was referring to it a few weeks ago in a story about fining parents for idling outside a school.

Re: What the health!!
when you analise the data properly it becomes a bit less shocking , in a well balanced diet there is not much to be afraid of and it can contain any of these things. Excess in anything is bad , common sense is needed and an honest look at what we eat regularly .
