Guillable Americans

Is it me or are the majority of Americans plain guillable, wherever you see them they seem to have the latest tool or piece of kit, they seem to take any opportunity or excuse to go out and spend money on something they will rarely use or don't even need and are so indoctrinated into spending money that they now do it because it is the latest fad.

Ironically an American TV show was on and as I walked into the room I caught it and was gobsmacked, typical American claimed he could do this job for $50 and then went out to buy a cordless drill to do the job with, the camera flashed inside his garage and he had a rack of cordless drills, he admitted that while the cordless drill cost $100, he could buy the cordless set for $350 and thought he would buy the complete set, he didn't grasp the concept that he had spent $400 to do a $50 job. What made it worse was the fact his neighbour was a tradesman and told him he would do that job for a customer for $280 and give a years warranty on the work.

I think thats called dumbing down which I gather is the role of the education system in the US..

I also gather it will/is happening everywhere else in the fullness of time..... of course it goes with saying that it does not include the kids of rich parents

Not sure the dumbness is exclusive to the US though. I have heard many a tale of this kind of stupidity this side of the pond too.
For example some people just collect stuff, it seems the need to own overrides the need to use.... i think sitting infront of the idiot box(where the seeds of want are sown) for to long can do that lol

Also some people buy stuff they already have??? how crazy is that!!!

And this is what really beggars belief: my partner works in retail where a few months ago some female actually defecated in the changing room.

i think we are pretty much doomed as a species
