Had this summons for not paying a month of CT - was a genuine mistake

How best to deal with this bullshit?

Last time I had one of these I phoned the council & after basically telling them I knew of their scam & that of hiring court rooms out, issuing their own summonses etc that I would reluctantly pay the 'alleged' amount owed (council tax only) but I would not be paying their court fees due to the above, if they were not happy with that then they could basically sing for it as I would not pay them anything & they would have to chase it up.

They agreed to drop all court fees if I paid the amount within a set time (it was not the full years either as they try to claim usually if you don't pay up), I asked for all in writing (which I received) & reluctantly paid the council tax only - no court fees.

This was some years ago, all councils behave differently, suppose depends who you speak to too.

Thank you so much

I have asked them to send me copies of all their correspondence- i seem to recall they did but I ignored it because I thought I had paid it

I was going to call them once I received the copies from them and see what they say

I wanted to take this opportunity to learn how any of this can be counteracted around legal name etc and that they are corporations.

Also that these summons are not from the court but from the council masquerading as from the court which is fraudulent
